Backend Engineer - DevEx

About the opportunity

We are seeking a talented Backend Engineer to join the Platform Engineering Domain in the Platform Enablement team.

The mission of Platform Engineering is to provide trusted, performant, self-service platforms that empower product teams to build “the bank the world loves to use. The Platform Enablement team empowers N26 engineering teams by providing them with a suite of tools that enhance their efficiency while maintaining security and compliance.

Our cross-functional teams are passionate about collaboration and sharing knowledge, as well as working with a high degree of autonomy.

As a Backend Engineer at N26, you will be encouraged to embrace the latest technological updates and given a platform to work on complex, interesting problems on a daily basis.

As one of the first banks completely hosted in the cloud - our security, resilience and productivity standards require not only the use of a modern technology stack, but the building of teams in line with our principles and in the service of our product teams, the company and our customers.

In this role, you will:

• Design, develop, test, deploy and maintain software in a thriving environment.
• Collaborate closely with your team on architecting new features and seeing them through to completion.
• Stay up to date with the latest trends in technology.
• Work within your cross-functional team to uphold the highest technical standards right across the product.

What you need to be successful:

• Experience in developing software using Java/Kotlin and Spring Boot in large-scale production systems.
• Knowledge about software development best practices and software architectures (Distributed systems, Domain Driven Design, Testing).
• Full professional proficiency in English.
• Previous experience with cloud architectures, preferably with AWS.

Nice to have:

• Hands-on experience with typescript and modern web development
