Overview & Responsibilities
To perform all required foundry preparation and setups to conduct the static lead-lining of seals and static and centrifugally cast babbitting of cast iron, steel, brass, bronze and high copper (Cr-Cu) bearing components. This includes media blasting operations, tool setting, deburring of parts, and dimensional inspections of components according to required specifications in a timely manner. Ability to plan and oversea work with minimal supervision. Ability to train other employees on all functions and processes of babbitting.

Able to accurately measure and record all clearances and dimensions on equipment is necessary.

Maintains continuity among work shifts by documenting and communicating actions, irregularities, and continuing needs.

Accepts ownership over work performance and works to improve skillset.

Maintains equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements; following manufacturer's instructions; troubleshooting malfunctions; calling for repairs.

Evaluate experimental procedures and recommend change or modifications for efficiency and adaptability to setup and production.

Documents actions by completing production and quality logs.

Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities and reading technical publications.

Qualifications

High School Diploma

3-5 years of experience with Babbit
