An AWS Infrastructure Implementation/ Support role is responsible for providing technical support and troubleshooting expertise for infrastructure-related issues within the AWS environment. They work closely with customers, internal teams, and vendors to diagnose and resolve problems, ensuring smooth operations and optimal performance of AWS Services
The job responsibilities include:
- Infrastructure issue resolution: Investigating and resolving Infrastructure-related incidents and problems reported by customers or detected through monitoring and alerting systems. This involves troubleshooting connectivity issues, performance problems, and other infrastructure -related anomalies within the AWS environment.
- Customer support: Responding to customer inquiries, troubleshooting issues, and providing timely and effective resolutions. They engage in active communication and collaboration with customers to gather necessary information, understand their requirements, and guide them on best practices for configuration and troubleshooting.
- Incident and problem management: Managing AWS infrastructure-related incidents and problems in accordance with established frameworks and SLA commitments. They prioritize and escalate issues as needed, coordinate with cross-functional teams to investigate root causes and ensure effective resolution of problems to restore normal network operations.
- Documentation and knowledge base: Creating and maintaining AWS infrastructure -related documentation, including troubleshooting guides, best practices, and knowledge base articles. They contribute to the knowledge base for effective and efficient problem resolution and provide training and support to other team members.
- Collaboration and coordination: Collaborating with internal teams, such as network engineers, system administrators, and security teams, to analyze and resolve complex issues. They also work closely with vendors and service providers to report and resolve related problems, including coordinating maintenance and updates.
- Monitoring and optimization: Utilizing monitoring tools and systems to proactively identify potential issues, monitor performance, and optimize network configurations. They recommend improvements and optimizations to enhance network reliability, performance, and security.
- Change management: Assisting in the planning and execution of changes and updates. They review change requests, assess their impact on the network, and ensure proper testing, validation, and documentation of changes following established change management processes.
- Cloud Architecture Design: Develop and design cloud solutions on AWS that meet client requirements, ensuring scalability, reliability, security & migration.
To succeed in this role, an AWS Support professional should have a strong working knowledge of networking concepts, protocols, and technologies AWS technologies to succeed in this role. They should be proficient in troubleshooting network connectivity, VPC, Security Group, NACL, VPN, routing, Windows or Linux distributions and performance issues. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, excellent communication abilities, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, customer-focused environment are crucial. Obtaining relevant certifications like the AWS Certified Professional or Associate - AWS Engineer is advantageous.
