The Role

AVP, Cox Communities Strategy and Operations (Multi-Family and New Build MDU and SFU) will be responsible for leading the division's strategic vision and operational excellence for $ 2.4B revenue segment and responsible for New Build which is 300M in annual LRP impact. New Build is the largest growth lever for residential.
This leader will be responsible for monitoring the external landscape for growth opportunities and risk, competitive landscape and trend changes. The team will Create a 3-year strategy. The planning will include strategy, business case, funding approval and requirements for product, technology and operations and go to market strategy for the new launches. They also will drive the strategic direction and operational enablement of Cox's Multi Family and new build business. This position will lead to efforts to expand and optimize Cox's presence in the multi-family housing sector and new build residential developments, working closely with internal teams and external stakeholders to deliver innovative solutions, drive growth and ensure operational excellence.
The AVP will play a critical role in ensuring that Cox Communities continues to be at the forefront of innovative community building solutions that allow our customers to win in the marketplace and Cox to profitably grow. The role will also have lifecycle management of Cox Community products.
Direct responsibility for the following products:
The AVP role will leverage their deep expertise in multi-family development and operations strategy, real estate technology, builders, developers and industry consulting to shape Cox Communities long term growth plan 1-3 years out and contribute to the advancement of the company's overall business objectives.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES AND ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Strategic Leadership
Strategic Planning: Develop and execute the 3-year strategic vision for Cox Communities' multifamily and new build segments, identifying growth opportunities in key markets and establishing long term positioning. Prioritizing product and initiative development plans and requirements.
Market expansion: identify new markets for expansion in both new build and multifamily sectors, assessing trends, customer needs, and competitive landscape.
Partnership Development: Cultivate strong relationships with key industry partners, including MSA partners and best in class providers for real estate tech, consultants, general contractors, to enable solutions and differentiated value proposition to our clients.
Innovation and trends: Stay ahead of market trends and technological advancements, integrating innovative solutions into multi-family housing and new build projects to enhance customers' experience, operational efficiencies and profitability. Manage Product development roadmap and requirements for Cox Communities product roadmap.
Operational Excellence
Operational Oversight: Defining guidelines and process oversight with border partners, customers and internally to ensure good customer experience, efficiency and cost management.
Process Optimization: Lead the oversight of customer journeys and continuous process improvement. Looking for opportunities to streamline processes, drive out cost and improve profitability.
Performance Management: Monitor operational performance metrics, establish goals for teams, ensure alignment with corporate objectives, implement systems to track performance and provide regular updates
Customer Experience: Ensure the creation of high-quality resident journeys with frictionless applications that support our owners and consultants.
Team Leadership and Development
Leadership and culture: Build and lead high performance teams, attracting "A" talent, fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and accountability. Provide mentorship and professional development and coaching to team members.
Cross functional collaboration: Work closely with key stakeholder relationships in product development, bus ops, outside plant and construction, field services, marketing and sales, technology to ensure alignment and effective execution of strategic and operational initiatives. Building high trust and influential relationships and credibility.
Talent Development: Identify and develop future leaders with the organization, providing opportunities for growth, training, and development to enhance the capabilities of the team.
Financial Management
Budgeting and financial oversight: This team will manage the OPEX budget and do planning and forecasting for LRP connects, Capital and revenue planning. Responsible for 77M budget in revenue share and door fees and a 40M in FTE and influence 120M new build capital planning.
Profitability and ROI/ IRR: Team responsible for business case assumptions on contracts, product launches and other initiatives to continue to meet or exceed business targets for return on invested capital and drive cost efficiencies.
P&L oversight: Manage P&L decisions for Cox Communities.
External engagement and Partnership management
Partner relationships with third party providers including vendor management ensuring transparency, planning and communications. Manage stakeholders' expectations.
Public relations & industry relationships: Position Cox Communities as a leader in the multi-family and new build sector by actively engaging in industry events, conferences, and public forums. Champion Cox's position as forward thinking and being the "Trusted Advisor"
Regulatory and compliance: Ensure compliance with all local, state and federal regulations governing multi-family and new build developments and advocate for policies that align with Cox's business goals.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:
• BA/BS degree in a related discipline, with 14+ years of relevant experience with at least 7 years' experience in a leadership role; OR 18 years of equivalent experience in lieu of degree.
• Proven success in scaling operations and launching new products successfully
• Experience in leading cross functional teams
• Deep financial, strategic and business acumen
• Demonstrated history of building high trust, high influence relationships internally and externally.
Preferred
• MS degree +12 years of experience in a related discipline OR Ph.D +9 year of experience in related discipline
USD 171,800.00 - 286,400.00
Compensation:
Compensation includes a base salary of $171,800.00 - $286,400.00. The base salary may vary within the anticipated base pay range based on factors such as the ultimate location of the position and the selected candidate's knowledge, skills, and abilities. Position may be eligible for additional compensation that may include an incentive program.
