Job Description
Ares is currently searching for a highly motivated, detail-oriented team player to join as an Associate Vice President in the Investment Operations – Pipeline Management Team. This individual will be responsible for all aspects of deal pipeline management, CRM relationship management, in addition to assisting with the ad hoc reporting requests. In this capacity, significant responsibilities include on-going relationships with Private Equity & Real Assets colleagues and will communicate regularly with Legal, Compliance, Finance and Business Development.
The candidate must have strong organizational, interpersonal, quantitative, and analytical skills and must be able to meet deadline requirements.
Primary Functions & Responsibilities

Manage Pipeline function for Private Equity and Real Assets businesses along with 1+ direct reports

Support deal pipeline management tool (DealCloud) across 3 business units: Credit, Real Assets, and Private Equity

Manage daily BAU functions for deal teams and portfolio managers, while simultaneously operationalizing and enhancing processes

Support firmwide data governance

Review, verify, and summarize administrative data related to new investment opportunities and dynamically track the progress of each transaction

Scrub credit agreements/deal documentation for key datapoint and ensure all systems are updated accurately

Track elements of the deal closing process and ensure receipt of executed documents

Review final deal closing checklists and validate all tasks were correctly executed

Perform various data checks to ensure the accuracy of key data points

Run metrics on key performance indicators

Take on any additional deal pipeline management related tasks

Prepare and distribute weekly, monthly, quarterly, annual, and ad hoc reports

Become DealCloud Platform Manager
Qualifications
Education:
-
A bachelor’s degree is required
Experience Required:
-
7+ years relevant operational experience
-
Strong knowledge of bank loans and credit agreements
-
Strong knowledge of alternative credit transactions including privately held investments, bank debt, bonds, CLO equity, and other fixed income products

Experience with CRM systems (DealCloud) or other relational databases
General Requirements:

Self-motivated and proactive team player who takes ownership and accountability of assigned tasks

Excellent organization and time management skills with ability to prioritize work and function with minimal guidance

Effective articulation with excellent written and oral communication skills

Strong proficiency in MS Office applications including Excel, Word, and Outlook

Compensation
The anticipated base salary range for this position is listed below. Total compensation may also include a discretionary performance-based bonus. Note, the range takes into account a broad spectrum of qualifications, including, but not limited to, years of relevant work experience, education, and other relevant qualifications specific to the role.
$140,000 - $160,000
