Job Description

Your Mission

We’re seeking a hands-on Automation Solutions Specialist to optimise our internal processes and workflows. Collaborating with Product Managers (particularly those overseeing CR and sales tools) and Operations leaders, you will design and implement solutions that enhance how we serve our customers. This involves everything from automating logistics and supply-chain notifications to integrating our CRM platforms seamlessly with internal systems.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Automation Development & Maintenance

    • Build, test, and deploy automation workflows, primarily using Workato (or comparable platforms).

    • Create scripts (e.g. Python, JavaScript) to handle scenarios beyond standard connectors or integrations.

  2. Systems Integration & Data Synchronisation

    • Integrate and synchronise systems (HubSpot, Zendesk, Jira, etc.) to ensure accurate data flow and minimal manual intervention.

    • Manage logistics-related processes, including real-time notifications and communications around deliveries or status updates.

  3. Data Handling & Analysis

    • Process large Excel datasets (>10k rows) in data frames for reporting, visualisation, and trend analysis.

    • Apply basic statistical methods (means, medians, standard deviations) to identify efficiencies and inform decision-making.

  4. Collaboration & Stakeholder Engagement

    • Work closely with operational leaders and agents in multiple locations, gathering requirements and translating them into actionable automation proposals.

    • Conduct occasional presentations or demos of automation solutions, though the primary focus is hands-on execution.

  5. Continuous Improvement & Innovation

    • Regularly assess existing processes for opportunities to automate and improve.

    • Leverage AI and Large Language Models (LLMs) to expedite coding, debugging, and prototyping solutions.

  6. Security & Compliance Awareness

    • Ensure automations follow essential data security and privacy best practices.

    • Liaise with relevant teams on compliance considerations as needed (e.g., data privacy regulations).

  7. Leadership & Growth

    • Guide less experienced team members or peers in best practices for automation.

    • Potentially lead a small team of automation specialists as the function expands.

Qualifications

  • Technical Proficiency

    • iPaaS Experience: Hands-on knowledge of Workato or a similar platform.

    • Coding/Scripting: Strong ability to write and troubleshoot scripts in Python, JavaScript, or a similar language.

    • API Integrations: Familiar with RESTful APIs, JSON payloads, and token-based authorisations.

  • Data Handling

    • Proficient in using spreadsheets, data frames, and basic data visualisation tools.

    • Able to handle medium-large data sets (tens of thousands of rows) efficiently.

  • Tools & Platforms

    • Comfortable working with Jira, HubSpot, Zendesk, and other CRMs or ticketing systems.

    • Advantageous to have experience building browser-based extensions or “hacky” integrations for unique use cases.

  • Analytical & Problem-Solving Skills

    • Demonstrable track record of spotting automation opportunities and delivering workable, tested solutions.

    • Capable of basic statistical calculations to inform operational decisions.

  • Communication & Collaboration

    • Able to translate business needs into technical solutions and convey progress to non-technical stakeholders concisely.

    • Fluent written and spoken English; other languages a plus.

  • Professional Experience

    • Previous experience in a role heavily focused on automation, systems integration, or process engineering.

    • Exposure to operational logistics or supply-chain systems is beneficial but not mandatory.

  • Mindset & Growth

    • Motivated to explore new technologies, including AI tools, to enhance productivity.

    • Comfortable in a fast-paced environment with evolving priorities.
