We are actively hiring for a Sr. Manager of Commercial Claims Physical Damage!

Your Role:

Responsible for staff management and oversight of the vehicle physical damage department in a claims Service Center as well as virtual employees working from home offices whose function is to handle first and third-party physical damages claims on multiple technology platforms. Responsible for First Notice of Loss and service level standards and fiduciary responsibilities (operational budget planning). Will act as claims Liaison in for commercial clients to build and maintain relationships - has ultimate accountability for the business unit overall results.

Your work:

  • Responsible for recommending, establishing, and maintaining quality standards and service levels.
  • Accountable for overall performance goals/results of the department.
  • Accountable to provide leadership, manage and direct the activities of the business units within Physical Damage, including the implementation and adherence to operational policies and procedures, planning, budgeting, and staffing, with special focus on customer service and delivery.
  • Accountable for human resources functions to include, recruiting and interviewing prospective employees, conducting performance appraisals recommending, salary actions including promotions and terminations, and administering disciplinary procedures in conjunction with management, recognizes employee’s achievements and counsels employees on performance issues, promotes growth and development of staff through coaching and mentoring, provides feedback and guidance to staff relative to productivity, responsiveness and customer satisfaction, coordinates training needs of employees and ensures employees receive training relevant to their job duties and with a focus on achieving superior customer relations.

Required Experience, Education and Skills

  • BA/BS degree or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Must hold an Adjuster licensed for all applicable states or obtain license(s) within 90 days of filling position as a condition of employment
  • 7+ years of claims experience
  • Valid Automobile Operator’s License with acceptable driving record
  • Knowledge of state and federal insurance regulations.
  • Comprehensive understanding of automobile repairs, insurance contracts and regulatory process.
  • Ability to work well without direct supervision.
  • Valid automobile operator’s license may be required depending on assignment.
  • Ability to prioritize work, organizes time, and balances multiple projects; ability to supervise employees in virtual environment.
  • Must possess effective inter-personal and negotiating skills and the ability to interact with others in a professional and tactful manner.
  • Working knowledge of changes and developments in the insurance industry.
  • Position requires effective decision-making, leadership, and motivational skills.
  • Must possess effective organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work with inside and outside vendors.
  • Requires the ability to coach, mentor, evaluate and provide training, guidance, and constructive feedback to professional staff.
  • Position requires ability to communicate effectively in both writing and verbally and conduct meetings and deliver formal presentations.

The national average salary range for this position is $136,800 - $152,000. However, we have a location-based compensation structure. Our salary ranges vary and are calculated based on county of residence. The full salary range for this position across all the states we hire in is $123,120 - $182,500/year. This role also includes an opportunity for a company-wide annual discretionary bonus, through our Annual Incentive Plan (AIP), of up to 18% of eligible pay.
