We are currently seeking an accomplished leader to join our team in the newly-created role of Associate Vice President, Consumer Engagement Optimization & Marketing Analytics. This role will be responsible for driving key strategic initiatives to improve the prioritization, efficiency, and impact of member-facing communications across marketing, operational, and regulatory communications as part of the Marketing Analytics, Insights, and Operations (MAIO) organization at Humana. This leader will operate as a key member of the MAIO and Marketing leadership teams and will work closely with other leaders across the organization to drive data-centric decisioning, rigorous prioritization, and comprehensive coordination of customer touchpoints across lines of business and customer journeys to ensure focus on delivering next-best communications to improve member and business outcomes while minimizing member friction.
This individual will have an immediate impact on driving efficiency and effectiveness across the delivery of >1B annual discretionary, operational, and regulatory communications to Humana’s customers, members, and patients by driving adoption of analytical and research insights, establishing customer and business impact-focused prioritization, and identifying new opportunities to address customer needs through product and experience constructs. Additionally, he/she will establish and lead a new function within Marketing, working in direct coordination with customer lifecycle, insurance, Centerwell, and MarTech teams and in collaboration with partners across Enterprise Growth, Insurance, and Centerwell lines of business.
The AVP will report to the Vice President, MAIO and will be responsible for building and leading a small team of 5-6 associates. It is a key succession developmental role for other leadership roles in the Marketing organization and/or broader Humana. The position can be located anywhere within the contiguous lower 48 states, although Arlington, VA and Louisville, KY are our preferred locations.
Key Accountabilities/Responsibilities
- Identify opportunities and lead large scale initiatives and programs from conception through implementation.
- Establish and lead an impact-focused analytical organization in coordination across marketing and other functional domains
- Develop and implement an investment and engagement prioritization function to ensure focus on customer and business functions across discretionary, operational, and regulatory touchpoints
- Accelerate the delivery and implementation of data-driven decisioning in support of next-best-action orchestration
- Establish and oversee the maintenance of analytical capabilities orchestrating customer touchpoints to optimize contact and channel effectiveness while minimizing customer friction
- Identify and build strategies and implementation plans to develop new member and commercial opportunities in partnership with segmentation, digital, and product analytics teams and strategy leaders
- Serve as key liaison for MAIO for both internal and external relationships involving customer engagement insights and analytics
- Lead coordination of activities and initiatives across Marketing, Enterprise Growth, and key business stakeholders
- Develop and present initiatives, performance updates, and impact assessments to audiences including All Team meetings, Marketing and Enterprise Growth leadership, DRI/ Management Team
- Drive culture efforts across MAIO, Marketing, and HR to promote associate engagement, advance talent strategy, and successfully manage change
- Serve as a subject matter expert, handling inquiries, developing action plans, and assisting with preparation and dissemination of key communications

Key Candidate Qualifications
The successful candidate will have demonstrated success in building high-performing, cross-functional teams, driving horizontal change in large organizations, and developing and leveraging insights to identify opportunities that strengthen customer relationships to improve retention and drive engagement. This leader will have proven ability to interact, influence, and lead enterprise business and technical experts in data, analytics, and operations. As such, he/she must be comfortable working cross-functionally and collaboratively across virtually every business line within Humana. This person will also be an effective and dynamic leader who has experience leading technical and business teams and diverse projects that often have competing priorities.
In addition to the above, the following professional qualifications and personal attributes are also sought:
- Extensive experience (typically 10+ years) and demonstrated success in progressive leadership roles in marketing analytics or a related field, including several years (typically 5+ years) of team leadership.
- Excellent oral and written communications skills, including the polish, poise, and executive presence that will ensure effective interaction with executive and senior-level audiences
- Demonstrated ability to translate complex technical concepts for presentation to a range of audiences to drive sustained transformation
- Current or recent experience in a large, highly matrixed company (i.e., Fortune 150), or a major consulting firm, with proven ability to influence leaders and key stakeholders in such an environment
- Highly collaborative mindset, with excellent relationship-building and negotiating skills, including the ability to engage many diverse stakeholders and SMEs and win their co-ownership in the outcome
- Ability to integrate technical, analytical, and business information in support of cohesive strategies to improve customer and business outcomes
- A record of success in leading strategic transformation initiatives.
- Strong business acumen and financial acuity, including P&L accountability for business or product portfolios and management of technology, capability, and G&A budgets
- Bachelor’s degree in business or a related discipline is required; Master’s degree preferred.
Travel: While this is a remote position, occasional travel to Humana's offices for training or meetings may be required.

Pay Range
The compensation range below reflects a good faith estimate of starting base pay for full time (40 hours per week) employment at the time of posting. The pay range may be higher or lower based on geographic location and individual pay will vary based on demonstrated job related skills, knowledge, experience, education, certifications, etc.
$203,400 - $279,800 per year
This job is eligible for a bonus incentive plan. This incentive opportunity is based upon company and/or individual performance.
