Associate Technical Writer

Overview:

• Seeking an astute individual that has a strong technical foundation with the additional ability to be hands-on with the broader engineering team as part of the development/deployment cycle, and deep knowledge of industry best practices, with the ability to implement them working with both the platform, and the product teams.

Scope:

Entry-level technical writer, under close supervision, learns the tools and processes used to create product documentation. Is responsible for writing and publishing product documentation as assigned in accordance with product release dates, functional scope, and standards. Conducts appropriate reviews then receives feedback and approvals from subject matter experts. Works collaboratively with other technical writers in peer and copy editing to ensure quality.Our current technical environment:

• Software: Java, Springboot, Gradle, GIT, Hibernate, Rest API, OAuth
• Application Architecture: Scalable, Resilient, event driven, secure multi-tenant Microservices architecture
• Cloud Architecture: MS Azure (ARM templates, AKS, HD insight, Application gateway, Virtue Networks, Event Hub, Azure AD)
• Frameworks/Others: Kubernetes, Kafka, Elasticsearch, Spark, NOSQL, RDBMS, Springboot, Gradle GIT, Ignite.

What you'll do:

• Focuses on learning the craft and how to work in a team productively, in particular:
• Requires frequent supervision with a lead writer or manager to learn and adhere to department processes and standards.
• Delivers content for online help systems, user guides, and technical manuals as assigned. Learns and uses help authoring tool and source-control system to complete specific authoring tasks.
• Learns to collaborate with subject matter experts and internal stakeholders (PD/PMG) to determine necessary content updates.
• Learns about and understands product designs that are being implemented.
• Learns to obtain approval of new or revised content by subject matter experts and key contributors to cross-functional teams.
• Collaborates with other technical writers in peer and copy editing to ensure quality.
• Delivers documentation that meets all defined requirements from PD/PMG and warrants product functionality.
• Is introduced to agile software development processes, tools, and techniques.

What we are looking for:

• Experience of 6 months - 1.5years in Technical writing.
• Experience of writing and publishing product documentation as assigned in accordance with product release dates, functional scope, and standards.
• Experience in conducting appropriate reviews then receives feedback and approvals from subject matter experts.
• Works collaboratively with other technical writers in peer and copy editing to ensure quality.
• Demonstrates ability in behavioral competencies such as written and verbal communications, teamwork, interviewing skills, organization, and completing complex work.
• Learns and uses technology currently in use to complete day-to-day tasks (such as email, chat, web meetings, goal planning, and vacation management).
• Learns to track time and effort.
