SUMMARY

Create and maintain all types of patterns for assigned styles and categories. Create and maintain all technical specifications for assigned styles and categories.
RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Build and maintain patterns from 3D concept prototypes through final fit approval for production.
  • Work with the Sewing team to determine best garment construction methods by creating construction mock ups and construction examples for internal and external purposes.
  • Work with the Design and Merchandising teams to determine, achieve and maintain appropriate fit approval for assigned styles or categories.
  • Build and maintain technical specifications, e.g., BOM, construction details, measurements, cutting, packaging, and associated technical images, etc. according to established standards.
  • Complete patterns and technical specifications according to deadlines.
  • Release patterns and technical specifications to appropriate recipients. Provide soft goods, e.g., prototype garments, construction mock-ups, etc. to appropriate recipients.
  • Track and monitor progress of Fit samples, Size Set samples and Pre Production samples in relation to deadlines.
  • Evaluate Fit samples, Size Set samples and Pre Production samples for fit, measurement and construction accuracy and quality.
  • Provide approval/rejection comments on Fit samples, Size Set samples and Pre Production samples for fit, measurement and construction accuracy and quality to appropriate recipients.
  • Provide pattern and technical guidance to appropriate recipients for Fit samples, Size Set samples
  • and Pre Production samples.
  • Provide the Design and Merchandising teams with construction options for cost efficiency.
  • Participate in improving and maintaining established technical design and product creation processes.
  • Participate in special projects and assignments as needed.

SKILLS:

  • Google Apps, Ms Windows, Adobe Illustrator, PLM, pattern design software (Optitex preferred)
  • Pattern making experience (swimwear pattern making preferred)
  • Garment fitting experience
  • Garment construction knowledge
  • Fabrics and trims knowledge
  • Basic pattern grading knowledge
  • Basic marker making knowledge
  • Good written and verbal communication skills

REQUIREMENTS:

  • A.A. Apparel Design or Apparel Production, or job related equivalent
  • 1-2 years experience in pattern making and technical design
