Job Summary:

HKEX is looking for an enthusiastic social-media savvy individual to join its award-winning Communications team.
We are seeking a creative social media specialist to join our versatile Media Relations team. The successful applicant will be a strong storyteller who is adept at leveraging the power of social media to promote HKEX’s businesses. We need someone with a proven track record to turn ideas into compelling content, graphics, short videos, and other assets for distribution via social media and other communications channels.

Job Duties:

The Media Relations team, part of the Group’s Communications Team, is responsible for accurately communicating HKEX’s strategy and new developments, maintaining the Group’s high standards of transparency and managing HKEX’s local and international reputation, primarily through regular communication with the media and through developing informative content on its social media platforms. The team works closely with the HKEX Board, executive, senior management and the business to ensure that HKEX is accurately represented

We are looking for someone with strong social media sense and who is proactive in contributing ideas. This person should possess the drive to advance in their communications career, and be interested in developing their professional skills in a dynamic and high-profile business environment.

Responsibilities:

• Draft high-quality copy for social media and other media initiatives, as well as to assist in graphics, podcast and short video production

• Identify communications opportunities and issues as they emerge, working with the business to capitalize on them to optimize HKEX’s positioning  

• Proactive involvement in the planning and implementation of social strategies, and paid and organic campaigns

• Liaise with a range of internal and external stakeholders to generate content from ideation to delivery

• Stay abreast of what’s happening in the market and new features on various social channels, and come equipped with innovative ideas for social content

• Manage HKEX's social media platforms including WeChat, Twitter, Linkedln, Weibo, YouTube and other online services that assist in developing multimedia content

• Analyse social media performance and deliver meaningful insights from reports

• Monitor news and online discussions about HKEX, and prepare daily news digest

• Support broader Communications team on all HKEX’s communications initiatives

Requirements:

• University degree in any discipline

• Minimum of two years' experience in social media, communications, journalism, marketing or other creative industries (financial market experience preferred, but not essential)

• Excellent command of written English and Chinese

• Be enthusiastic, confident, dependable, and an excellent team player

• Excellent knowledge of social media platforms and graphic design

• A knack for creative thinking, excellent judgement, integrity, professionalism and positivity are likely to all be attributes of the successful candidate.
