Associate Scrum Master
As an Associate Scrum Master with Convera, we are seeking 1-2 years of industry experience in a Scrum Master role. The ideal candidate is eager to learn, grow, and become an effective, collaborative member of our Program Management team. You will coach one to two scrum teams, with mentoring from a more senior member of Program Management, and lead scrum ceremonies, coordinate dependencies and risks, and coach your team on agile best practices.
You will be responsible for:
- Scrum Team Coaching: Successfully coach one to two scrum teams with mentorship from a senior Program Management member.
- Scrum Ceremonies: Lead scrum ceremonies for your team, ensuring they are productive and focused.
- Dependency and Risk Coordination: Coordinate dependencies and risks with other teams in your Program as needed.
- Agile Best Practices: Coach your team on agile best practices to support Program Management’s mission.
- Communication: Clearly communicate status, blockers, and impediments, and work to facilitate their removal with your team.
- Self-Organization: Contribute towards improving self-organization within the team.
- Scrum Events: Ensure Scrum events occur as needed.
- Product Owner Support: Support the Product Owner in managing the product backlog and aligning on sprint goals.
- Collaboration: Collaborate with the Product Manager and Development Team to ensure alignment on sprint goals. Also collaborate with the program TPM to accurately report status on team progress toward the program goals.
- Guidance and Influence: Provide guidance on Scrum practices and principles, advocate for continuous improvement, and encourage the team to experiment with new approaches.
- Trust and Credibility: Build trust and credibility within the team to influence decision-making.
- Value Delivery: Coach your team to focus on delivering value to our customers in alignment with the company’s Strategy and Values.
You should apply if you have:
- Experience: 1-2 years of industry experience in a Scrum Master role.
- Scrum/Agile Knowledge: Familiarity with Scrum/Agile methodologies. Scrum Master certification preferred, but not required.
- Communication Skills: Ability to clearly communicate status, blockers, and impediments in multiple formats.
- Collaboration Skills: Ability to collaborate effectively with the Product Manager, Development Team, Technical Program Manager, and other stakeholders.
- Continuous Improvement: Advocate for continuous improvement and encourage the team to experiment with new approaches.
- Technical Understanding: Basic understanding of software development processes and technologies is beneficial.
- Agile Tools: Familiarity with Agile tools (e.g., Jira, Trello) and version control systems (e.g., Git) is helpful.
- Reliability and Openness: Reliable, respectful, open to feedback, and eager to learn.
