How You Will Contribute:
As an Associate Sales Engineer, you will work performing Sales Engineering (SE) activities as a key contributing member of Ciena’s Global Sales Engineering Support Center (GSES). Reporting to the Manager, Sales Engineering Operations, you will perform a mix of pre-sales and post-sales engineering tasks, with focus on bid activities, detailed optical network designs to enable network deployments, report generation, among others. You will support NA (mainly) and CALA customer projects, partnering with and supporting different Regional Sales Engineering teams in the Americas to develop high-value Ciena optical and networking proposals that accurately address specific customer technical needs. You’ll also perform pre-sales activities, such as customer presentations and demonstrations to articulate use-cases, solution designs and validations, technical consultancy, and RFX support with the objective of fostering the sales cycle.

After learning and adopting unique network engineering knowledge and skills like in no other place in the industry, you will perform solution designs, link engineering and simulations to validate optical network designs on Ciena proprietary ‘state of the art’ network design tools.

You will work on various Link Engineering Design, Detailed Network Documentation, Technical Solution Documents/Presentations, BoQs and product SoCs.

You will collect the latest features in solutions and technologies and identify relevant insights to be shared with the Product Line Management and SE leadership teams, proactively and accurately identifying prospect pain points while proposing creative solutions.

You will partner with different technical teams to address specific validation and consulting requirements, achieving the best fit for our customers of our Optical, Metro & Edge Networking hardware and software.

The Must Haves:

Bachelor’s degree in Electrical / Electronic / Telecommunications engineering / Computer Science.

The candidate must reside within the Metropolitan Area of Buenos Aires (AMBA).

Advanced oral and written English level.

Deadline driven and willing to work outside normal hours to complete tasks.

Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.

Outstanding team player.

Good communication skills, creativity and high energy.

Must also have strong interpersonal, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
Assets:

1+ years of experience in Telecommunications industry performing an engineering role.

Technical knowledge in fiber optics transmission systems (DWDM), telecommunication networks and network management, service layers support and management.

Routing & switching basic knowledge (IP, WAN, MPLS, Network topology architectures).

Experience with customer requirements, networks and services.

Project Management skills.
