Our Opportunity:

Chewy is looking for a Business Intelligence Engineer II to join our Inventory Replenishment Analytics Team. In this role, you will be responsible for delivering scalable data infrastructure, developing self-serve analytics tools, and applying data visualizations to unlock insights. You will partner directly with product leaders, program managers, data engineers, and data scientists  to anticipate the data infrastructure and tooling needs of the organization and proactively build solutions that fuel insights.

As part of a team that is constantly launching new inventory planning systems, responsible for using technical solutions to transform raw data from various sources into insights. The ideal candidate has experience integrating and scaling data applications plus outstanding data visualization and technical problem-solving skills. This individual is highly proficient in partnering across technology and business teams and has demonstrable experience providing high quality results with minimal direction from leadership. Strong written and verbal communication skills are required as this role will interact directly with multi-functional teams to roll out new tools, communicate data infrastructure changes, and share analytical findings with executive leaders.

What you'll do:

  • Design and implement data solutions best-suited to deliver business needs and use cases — from data lakes to analytics tools, across a dynamically evolving technical stack.
  • Design, develop, optimize, and maintain data architecture and pipelines that adhere to ETL principles and business goals.
  • Own development of proof of concepts, QA data sources, and partner in delivering new data tables, metrics, and analytics products
  • Partner in leading efforts to automate data extraction and distribution of reports to multiple collaborators
  • Own and continually improve metrics documentation and data governance
  • Proactively monitor existing metrics, propose new metrics, and work across the organization to deliver actionable intelligence

What you'll need:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Information Systems, Informatics, or a related field!
  • Current permanent U.S. work authorization is required.
  • 3+ years of experience working with data platforms such as: Snowflake, AWS, Vertica, or other RDB
  • Strong solid grasp of SQL and demonstrable ability to write, debug, and optimize SQL queries
  • Experience building self-serve BI solutions and automated reports that enable automated alerting and data quality monitoring
  • Ability to tailor analytics products to meet the needs of end customers using tools ranging from Excel to Tableau
  • Experience delivering high quality and insightful data visualizations and translating complex data into actionable insights
  • Exemplary collaborator management and prioritization skills using systems, processes, and scalable frameworks
  • Thorough understanding of Financial critical metrics and P&L statement
  • Superior attention to detail and experience building processes to validate data integrity
  • Demonstrable experience leading teams and delivering results in ambiguous and resource constrained environments

Bonus:

  • Masters in Analytics or MBA!
  • Experience in the supply chain industry
  • Experience in Python, Plotly, Streamlit

Behind the scenes, our talented teams are made up of innovators, delighters, big-thinkers and of course, passionate pet people—creating a place where you'll be empowered to build, grow and unleash your fullest potential.

We don’t just stand by our company mission—we’re obsessed with it. We seek to be the most trusted and convenient destination for pet parents and partners, everywhere. And we’re constantly finding new ways to do just that.

At Chewy, we understand pet parenthood is full of joyful highs and anxious lows. That’s why we’re here, standing alongside pet parents, providing everything their pets need for a happy, healthy life. We’re a leading online source for pet products, supplies, and prescriptions. We offer a broad selection of high-quality products and services at competitive prices with an exceptional level of customer care and a personal touch.

We have a rich history of being recognized for our deep care and personalization while going above and beyond for our customers and their pets.

We view pets and their people as more than just customers and look forward to meeting their needs and exceeding expectations through every interaction. With Chewy, no one pet-parents alone.

Our culture is for those who thrive on delivering results and becoming your best—no matter your role or location. At Chewy, our Operating Principles serve as a common language, or framework, that connects two of Chewy's most valuable elements—our people and our culture. The Operating Principles guide our character, capabilities, imagination, and methods for execution in support of our company's mission.
