The Associate IT Engineer at VelocityEHS bridges the gap between the Helpdesk Engineer and IT Engineer roles, focusing on both hands-on IT support and infrastructure management. Primary Duties and Responsibilities

  • Advanced Troubleshooting: Provide support for complex hardware and software issues, escalating when necessary, while resolving the majority of technical problems independently.
  • System Monitoring and Maintenance: Assist in the monitoring and maintenance of corporate servers, networks, and applications to ensure high availability and performance.
  • Endpoint Management: Help manage the deployment and configuration of end-user devices using Mobile Device Management (MDM) systems, ensuring compliance and security.
  • Software License Management: Support the management of software licenses, ensuring compliance with usage limits and optimizing license allocation.
  • Account and Access Management: Assist with user account creation, security configurations, and access management, including Single Sign-On (SSO) and Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) systems.
  • System Documentation: Create and maintain technical documentation related to IT systems, procedures, and configurations.
  • Patching and Updates: Assist in the implementation of system patches and updates for both Windows and macOS environments, ensuring systems are up to date and secure.
  • Security and Compliance Support: Participate in security audits and help maintain compliance with internal policies and external regulations.
  • Collaboration with IT Team: Work closely with the IT Engineers and Helpdesk teams to resolve escalated issues and contribute to infrastructure projects.
  • Ability to maintain on-site IT systems in a timely manner.
  • Provide on-site white glove support for Executive staff.


Minimum Skills and Qualifications

  • Education: Associate's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field, or equivalent work experience.
  • Experience: 2+ years of experience in IT support or related technical roles, with a strong foundation in troubleshooting and system administration.
  • Technical Skills: Familiarity with both Windows and macOS operating systems, basic networking (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP), and experience with MDM tools.
  • Problem-Solving: Ability to independently diagnose and resolve technical issues, with a strong attention to detail and a proactive approach.
  • Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, able to interact effectively with technical and non-technical staff.
  • Team Collaboration: Ability to work both independently and as part of a team, contributing to a collaborative IT environment.


Preferred Skills and Qualifications

  • Technical Proficiency: Knowledge of cloud services (e.g., AWS, Azure), basic scripting (e.g., PowerShell, Python), and experience with server and network maintenance.
  • Growth Mindset: Interest in continuous learning and professional development to advance technical knowledge and skills.
  • Project Involvement: Experience participating in small-scale IT projects, such as system upgrades or new software implementations.


VelocityEHS is committed to competitive, fair, and equitable compensation practices by offering market-based salary ranges. The expected salary range for this position is between $57,300 and $77,500 CAD (Canada). We aim to hire between the minimum and midpoint of the salary range and offers at the maximum of the range are uncommon. The final offered salary will be based on candidate's proficiency in skill set, prior relevant experience, internal equity, market considerations, and other factors. This role is eligible for our comprehensive benefits package.
