JOB PURPOSE

The Associate Development Engineer is responsible for the implementation of materials and processes for a wide range of precious metal fabrications.  Provide hands-on support for the manufacturing of these products and improve/develop tooling and techniques required to make product.  All efforts will be directed toward reducing manufacturing costs and precious metal working margins while improving internal and external product quality and developing new processes or product.

PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Improve process efficiencies and metal working margins in assigned production areas.  Establish improved process monitoring and control to provide consistent quality product.

  • Provide technical support for ongoing manufacturing operations within area of responsibility.

  • Design, specify and implement materials and processes for the product areas assigned.

  • Develop and trial new processes to enable the manufacturing of products as requested by sales team.

  • Train hourly work force as necessary to properly operate equipment and produce products in selected areas.

  • Provides technical input into process hazard studies, capital projects, and incident investigations along with technical support to the site.

  • Communicates, coordinates, and implements equipment and instrument designs with EHS, maintenance and operations personnel.

  • Provide part drawings and tool design to support Manufacturing & Process Engineering.  Ensure drawing changes are documented and timely.

  • Carries out any other duties, which are within the employee’s skills and abilities whenever reasonably instructed.

Requirements for the role:

  • Associates Engineering Degree or High School education with equivalent experience

  • Minimum of 7-10 years hands on equipment experience.

  • Minimum 5 years’ experience with PGM drawing and fabrications as well as inquisitive nature

  • Knowledge of processing parameters for platinum alloys.
