Job Summary
A Designer Level I demonstrates exceptional solution design capabilities and a strong aptitude for continuous skill development, ensuring top-tier support for IFF clients. They consistently expand their knowledge of ingredients, customer bases, processes, and flavor interactions within associated Category applications, while honing their project planning abilities. A Designer Level I works independently on assigned projects and collaborates effectively on large and critical projects, adapting to business needs.
Responsibilities:
- Develop finished product formulations incorporating IFF technologies, meeting industrial standards, and adhering to country-specific and client requirements (profile, legal, cost, and stability).
- Work on projects for key local, strategic, and regional customers, achieving commercial success.
- Utilize Product Experience (PX) data for projects when required.
- Understand the portfolio performance across a broad spectrum of finished products and production processes.
- Refine attributes (taste and texture) language and articulate them with team and project members.
- Continuously expand knowledge of ingredients and materials for Product Design.
- Maintain and continuously update the recipe database.
- Coordinate with Production and Quality departments to participate in successful scale-up trials, under guidance.
- Understand the Creative and Design process, cost influence, productivity performance, and development constraints.
- Demonstrate an understanding of market evolution and consumer preferences within the assigned category.
- Collaborate closely with Sales and Marketing, Flavorists, PX, GRA, and other departments to support project execution.
- Develop an internal network to expand design and business knowledge.
- Exhibit a positive attitude and passion.
- Share knowledge with the team and provide guidance to Trainee/Associate Designers.
Requirements:
- Minimum entry level: University/College Degree in Food Science and Technology or related disciplines (such as Chemistry, Biochemistry, and Human Nutrition).
- Preferred: Master’s Degree in a related area.
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in the industrial food, pharmaceutical, ingredient, or flavor industry, with at least 2 years in the specific field of expertise.
- Pass internal IFF sensory test.
