Overview & Responsibilities

Complete automation efforts as assigned, including programming for all product lines.

Includes both models and drawings to completion.

Complete checklists and instructions for production design team to follow when automation is used.

Update and/or revise automation design based on latest Engineering and Manufacturing standards.

All automation efforts/tasks will be assigned by the Engineering Standards Supervisor with input and needs of all product line Supervisors and be prioritized by the Drafting Manager.

Provide monthly updates on automation progress to Management on assigned tasks.

Attend automation meetings and collaborate with other departments as needed to complete automation tasks.

Lead Designer on simple and complex model & drawing automation tasks.

Communicate with Product Engineering and Manufacturing to define design standards.

Implement cost saving designs.

Design and implement safety considerations on all product lines and components.

Standardize designs where possible with input from Product Engineering and Manufacturing.

To include but not limited to GD&T, tolerancing and dimensioning schemes.

Performs layout work and checking of all drawings/BOM's for assigned tasks.

Meets scheduled dates for assigned tasks/projects.

Provides status updates to Drafting Supervisor on assigned tasks/projects.

Attends all meetings for assigned jobs including, but not limited to, design reviews.

Handles changing priorities and managing multiple projects at once.

Sends Promotion Requests and ECN's for all releases on assigned jobs to get proper approvals as required per current processes.

Answers questions and interprets design concepts and layout details resulting from processing of drafting projects and equipment.

Maintains related records and files.

Provides drafting procedure and product change suggestions for consideration and review.

Performs the functions of a Drafting Project Administrator, Checker, Draftsman, and Detailer when required

Possesses a high level of product line knowledge and design.
