About the Role
 

Within our Science, Technology and Medical Journals group, we are looking for a(n)(Associate) Content Acquisition Specialist to join our team. Depending on your qualification, the role will be set at associate or at specialist level. You will work with our journals publishing teams to grow and strengthen a group of academic journals within a specific subject area. This position is a great opportunity to serve the research community and develop your career in publishing.

You will manage the end-to-end publication process of special issues and work with guest editors and authors to ensure a successful publication. You will work closely with publishers to maintain a healthy pipeline of special issues for a portfolio of journals.
 

Responsibilities
 

  • Project manage high-quality Special Issues, working with both guest editors and authors

  • Through effective communication, build and maintain relations with editors, (potential) guest editors and authors, as well as work closely with the content acquisition marketing and the publishing teams

  • Drive growth of the assigned journal portfolio by growing the quantity and quality of special content in line with the portfolio strategy

  • Deliver positive contributions to overall team performance and process improvements.

Requirements
 

  • University degree on M.Sc/MA level

  • 1-2 years of publishing experience and a good understanding of the academic publishing process

  • Solid communication skills with an ability to connect with a broad range of people, besides working well independently

  • Excellent organizational skills

  • Being flexible, analytical and proactive, with the ability to think critically about a wide range of research issues.

  • Excellent command of written and verbal English
