Job Description

As a member of the APAC Operations in Tokyo office:

  • Manage and monitor bespoke operation tasks for key Japanese clients for their investment into offshore products, working collaboratively with operations teams outside Japan
  • Ensure smooth operational processes and enhance communication and collaboration between Tokyo and offshore teams on client operational matters
  • Perform additional quantitative review of reports produced by internal teams for key Japanese clients to ensure alignment with customized client requirements
  • Perform cash monitoring for Japanese clients invested in offshore products and liaise with internal teams for resolution of any issues.
  • Prepare and perform data validation of client reporting, working collaboratively with operations teams outside Japan.
  • Work closely with Client Service manager and other teammates to support initiatives and projects as required for key Japanese clients.

Primary Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be expected to perform the following functions:

  • Daily monitor of Feeder fund cash and perform fund-of-fund trade re-investment
  • Update capstock and distribution in our system
  • Perform quantitative review of reports produced by internal teams and dispatch to clients
  • Daily monitoring of cash balance, liaise with portfolio manager/Toshin manager for any cash transfer
  • Produce periodic client reporting. Ensure data integrity and client deadlines are met
  • Address to ad hoc requests / queries from internal and external clients and provide timely responses
  • Troubleshoot errors in client reporting and work with IT for solutions
  • Work with Client Service Manager, and and Global Technology and Data team on developing bespoke client reporting, ensure required data is correctly populated and test the development works produced by IT to ensure accuracy
  • To ensure the procedure manuals are properly maintained and up-to-date
  • Fully understand the operation requirements from key Tokyo clients and communicate between Tokyo and offshore teams
  • Any ad-hoc tasks assigned

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience in the financial industry
  • Knowledge and experience of offshore fund-of-fund is preferred
  • Business communication skills in English
  • Excellent in Japanese is required
  • Proactive, attention to details, able to work under pressure, good at multi-tasking and time management
  • Positive “can-do” attitude and a high level of professionalism
  • Self-starter, fast learner and interested in taking on new challenges
