Job Description:

About the Role:

We are seeking an experienced and strategic IT Portfolio Management Lead at the Assistant Vice President (AVP) level to join our dynamic IT organization. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in aligning our technology initiatives with business objectives, optimizing resource allocation, and driving the overall IT strategy.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Work Intake Management:

   - Establish and maintain a robust work intake process for IT projects and initiatives

   - Develop and implement criteria for evaluating and prioritizing incoming requests

   - Collaborate with stakeholders to ensure cross-stakeholder management, prioritization, proper documentation, and classification of work items

2. Technology Roadmap Development:

   - Collect and analyze data points from various sources to inform the technology roadmap

   - Draft and maintain a comprehensive technology roadmap aligned with business goals

   - Present roadmap updates to senior leadership and key stakeholders

3. Resource Planning:

   - Oversee resource allocation across the IT portfolio

   - Identify resource gaps and propose solutions for optimal staffing

   - Collaborate with HR and department heads to ensure appropriate skill sets are available for upcoming projects

   - Manage and grow junior portfolio management staffs

4. Budget Management: 

   - facilitate the budget planning and forecasting for the IT portfolio, consolidating the IT asks for IT Finance planners

   - Participate in budget conversations with IT finance and senior leadership

   - Monitor and report on budget utilization, variances, and ROI of IT investments (shared outcome with IT Finance Lead)

5. Technology Stack Alignment:

   - Ensure alignment of the organization's tech stack with regional and global standards

   - Evaluate new technologies and make recommendations for adoption or integration

   - Collaborate with global IT teams to maintain consistency and leverage best practices

6. Portfolio Performance Management:

   - Develop and track KPIs and OKRs for the IT portfolio

   - Provide regular reports on portfolio performance to leadership

   - Identify areas for improvement and implement corrective actions

7. Stakeholder Management:

   - Build and maintain strong relationships with business units, vendors, and IT leadership

   - Facilitate communication between IT and other departments to ensure alignment of goals

   - Present portfolio updates and insights to executive leadership

Qualifications:

- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field; MBA or equivalent advanced degree preferred

- 10+ years of experience in IT management, with at least 5 years in portfolio management or similar role

- Strong understanding of IT governance frameworks (e.g., ITIL, COBIT)

- Excellent project and program management skills, experience with SAFe Agile is a plus

- Proven experience in strategic planning and roadmap development

- Strong financial acumen and experience with IT budgeting

- Excellent communication and presentation skills

- Ability to influence and collaborate with stakeholders at all levels

- Experience with portfolio management tools and methodologies

Desired Skills:

- PMP or similar project/portfolio management certification

- Experience with Agile and traditional project management methodologies

- Knowledge of emerging technologies and industry trends

- Experience in a global or multi-regional IT environment
