As an Assistant Vice President in the Human Resources division, you will be joining a talented and dedicated team of professionals who provide insights, strategies and solutions that help the Bank achieve its core mission, manage its talent, and prepare for future workforce needs. Reporting to the Vice President overseeing HR management and operations, the Assistant Vice President is a senior member of the Bank’s Human Resources leadership team. In this executive level role, you will provide leadership and management oversight to a team of human resources professionals and join a leadership team that designs, develops, and delivers performance, talent, and rewards solutions for the Bank and its internal business lines. You will engage with staff and leaders from within the division and across the Bank and also periodically contribute to important Federal Reserve System-level assignments.
Key Responsibilities
Lead the strategy to promote the Bank's culture and strategic objectives through pay for performance and market-based compensation philosophies and employee engagement strategies.
Oversee the day-to-day operations of the department total rewards employee engagement teams and help to lead the Human Resources division more broadly.
Support a strong performance and development culture for your team by providing timely feedback and coaching and development opportunities.
Foster a highly engaged team by seeking diverse views and perspectives to promote a collaborative-, learning-, and continuous improvement-focused work environment.
Promote and facilitate strategic changes in the Bank and across the Federal Reserve System by driving transformation, managing challenges, assessing opportunities, and clearly communicating benefits to the organization.
Collaborate in the development and implementation of HR policies, programs and procedures. Provide strategic leadership and vision to HR through understanding the Bank’s business needs, assessing HR’s service delivery model, and acting on organizational feedback.
Advise and work with Bank management, including senior management, and interact with leaders from other Federal Reserve Banks and the Board of Governors of the Federal Reserve System.
Maintain strong internal controls ensuring staff understand and comply with Bank and department controls.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree with emphasis in Human Resources and/or Industrial Relations, Business Administration, or related discipline, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Graduate degree in leadership, management or another related field preferred.
Ten or more years of progressively responsible experience in Human Resources with at least five years supervising/managing people. Experience must include leading and implementing HR programs, policies and procedures.
Proven leadership and consulting skills with the ability to help drive transformational change.
Superior business acumen, strategic planning, and implementation skills. Ability to identify key strategic issues affecting HR, consider ways to address and implications, and take appropriate actions.
Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to form trusted business relationships.
Excellent judgment when deciding which issues to resolve directly and which require senior management attention.
Excellent communication skills (written and oral), as well as outstanding presentation and persuasion capabilities, with exceptional management presence that elicits confidence and credibility.
Demonstrated organizational skills with the ability to identify priorities, drive performance and execute plans on schedule.
The salary range for this position is $158,500-286,500 with an expected starting salary range of $185,000-200,000. Salary offer will be based on qualifications/experience of the candidate, alignment with market data, the needs of the position, our total compensation package, and internal equity.
