Position Summary

The Assistant Negotiator, Media Activation supports seasoned negotiator in day-to-day tasks in negotiating, activation and maintaining general market/direct response national video and radio budgets on behalf of our clients. In this role, the Assistant Negotiator, Media Activation interacts with Client Business Partners, Traffic and Finance and acts as an additional contact with outside media representatives. The position requires a strong aptitude for buying and the aptitude to multitask and build relationship internally and externally.

Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist media buyers in negotiating and executing barter media buys across multiple platforms
  • Coordinate with vendors, internal account teams, and clients to facilitate media placements
  • Track, input, and maintain accurate records of media buys and barter transactions in proprietary systems
  • Monitor campaign performance and assist in generating reports, makegoods, and post-buy analyses
  • Prepare insertion orders and media confirmations
  • Work closely with inventory and sales teams to match media opportunities with client needs
  • Help maintain strong relationships with media vendors, understanding barter-specific deal structures
  • Stay current on media trends, industry developments, and emerging platforms

Required Skills & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Advertising, Communications, Business, or a related field
  • 0–2 years of experience in media, advertising, or related fields (internships welcome)
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
  • Proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint; familiarity with media software (e.g., Mediaocean) is a plus
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills
  • Interest in barter/trade media and non-traditional advertising solutions
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment

  * Proven problem-solving ability 
  * Able to work as part of a team in a deadline-driven, high-pressure environment 
  * Detail-oriented with exceptional organizational skills and multi-tasking capabilities 
  * Proficient in Microsoft Office, specifically Excel and Word
  * Knowledgeable in media math 
  * Proficient with MBox or equivalent Inventory Management system 
  * Excellent written and verbal communication skills    
  * Energetic self-starter with a strong work ethic and integrity as well as positive interpersonal skills
