What You Do
What You Do
Lead actions for stabilizing and improving the performance of QE operations through continuous improvement and development of QE process and engineers. Develop and Standardize QE systems to (improving safety, quality, and cost) .
As a part of the above, and on an ongoing basis will also:
- Establish strong team member relations, at all levels and provide support for people development, coaching, and mentoring with a focus on teamwork and inclusion
- Lead projects associated with equipment installation- includes budgeting and working with contractors.
- Work closely with advisors from Mazda and Toyota
- Create production improvement strategies relative to KPI (safety, quality, productivity, cost and HRD) achievement and support Group Leaders through Team Members in translating those strategies into concrete action plans and procedures by use of Floor Management Systems
- Collaborate cross-departmentally to problem-solve and implement countermeasures when necessary
- Share information and communicate goals within and outside of the department
- Develop and manage KPI’s for department and section processes
- Manage model change quality operational plans
- Manage change points for supplier, design, and quality engineering
- Ensure customer satisfaction for component parts and completed vehicle quality
- Be available to work outside of normal work schedule, including but not limited to weekends, holidays, shutdowns, and travel as needed (domestically and internationally)
What You Bring
- 2 years' supervisory experience in an equivalent role or internal demonstrated experience
- Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite of Products
- Must demonstrate ability to work independently solving quality problems considering facts, experience, and judgment
- Knowledge of multiple manufacturing processes utilized in vehicle manufacturing
- Demonstrate initiative to coordinate multiple tasks/teams to improve quality and promote problem solving activities across departments
- Experience with equipment installation to support manufacturing or inspection
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to read and interpret drawings for parts and equipment
What Sets You Apart
- Bachelor’s Degree or higher in Engineering and 5+ years of Equivalent Professional Experience in Quality Control or Manufacturing
- Previous experience managing both hourly and salary type employees
- 5 years’ experience in Engineering
- Degree in Engineering, Technical, or Business field
- Quality Engineering Experience
- Systems Experience (ICS + TVECS)
- Manufacturing experience outside of quality function
