About this Position
The Regulatory Attorney position is an in-house role that provides insurance and mortgage-related legal advice and guidance to Primerica Life Insurance Company and its non-insurance company affiliates.
This is a hybrid position working in Duluth, GA.
The estimated salary range for this position is 120K-135K.
Responsibilities & Qualifications
The Regulatory Attorney position is an in-house role that provides insurance and mortgage-related legal advice and guidance to Primerica Life Insurance Company and its non-insurance company affiliates, including our mortgage broker company and an agency with 140,000+ licensed agents (many of whom also refer or sell personal lines and legal protection plans).
The attorney will join a team that performs legal work in connection with the development, administration and/or distribution of life insurance and mortgage loan products. The attorney will support various departments throughout the company by providing state and federal statutory and regulatory guidance specific to life insurance, mortgage and other financial services businesses, with a focus on marketing rules and requirements. This position will also advise and work in collaboration with other divisions within the Office of the General Counsel, including marketing advisory and technology.
Knowledge Skills and Abilities:
- Strong interpersonal skills including ability to work well with legal and business teams comprising multiple departments
- Strong communication, legal research and writing skills including ability to concisely and effectively communicate complex matters in oral and written form
- Ability to address and manage multiple issues simultaneously
- Ability to identify, interpret and apply new statutes, regulations and directives and assist in their timely compliance
- Ability to handle complex legal matters, analyze legal issues, draft legal documents, and use sound legal judgment
- Strong organizational skills and ability to prioritize work assignments and meet deadlines
- Ability to work independently under limited direction of a senior attorney
Minimum Qualifications:
- Juris Doctor Degree
- Member of any state bar association
- One or more years insurance and/or mortgage experience practicing at a law firm, in-house, or at a government agency preferred
- Understanding of life insurance, mortgage and/or marketing laws, regulations and governing authorities preferred
