Due to our exceptional growth and success, Ankura is seeking an Assistant General Counsel in Singapore to join our legal team with a focus on supporting Ankura’s business in APAC.

What will you do in this role?
You will report to the Deputy General Counsel for EMEA & APAC and work with functions across Ankura to ensure compliance with the law and internal policies. You will actively manage your own workload of matters.
Key responsibilities will include:

Managing the negotiation, drafting, review, execution, and archiving of a wide variety of agreements, including engagement letters, confidentiality agreements and supplier agreements

Providing advice and counsel in various areas of the law, including general corporate, commercial, data protection and intellectual property

Contributing to global legal team projects and strategic objectives

Engaging in issue spotting, risk assessment, and problem-solving on a daily basis

Establishing and promoting a collaborative partnership with internal clients

Supporting in the development and automation of processes to scale efficiencies within the business

Being a positive ambassador for the legal department, showing a true desire to partner with the business to achieve its aims

Admitted to practice law in Singapore and in good standing.

International experience in other jurisdictions where Ankura has a presence in APAC

Minimum 3-4+ years’ post qualified experience in a reputable law firm and/or in-house position

Fluency in English is essential. Fluency in other languages is a plus

Ability to work on multiple projects, and prioritize/organize workload

Excellent oral and written communication skills, along with strong presentation skills

Ability to assess and manage risk

Comfortable in highly collaborative environment

Ability to easily network and build relationship with colleagues and external clients

Strong client service orientation, with high emotional intelligence and the ability to perform well under pressure
