Job Responsibilities:
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:• Prepare work and set up personnel for start up of each shift• Prioritize workload schedules to meet job deadlines• Identify and troubleshoot problems on new or existing equipment and follow up with engineering on any updates or changes• Communicate and inform Electrical Supervisor and Team Members of any changes in job information, deadlines and maintenance requirements for equipment and plant• Assign and inspect the work of electricians/apprentices/electrical helper and initiate correctivemeasures to meet standards.• Report any concerns and work-related matters to Electrical Supervisor and/or other department Supervisors• Determine material and labour estimates• Maintain and update the skills and training matrix.• Maintain positive contribution towards customer satisfaction, quality and Company profitability• Evaluate Team Members in order to recommend individuals for wage increases• Supervise activities of Electrical Department providing instruction and guidance• Maintain time sheets and attendance records• Be a responsible member of the Management Team• Open and lock up plant as required• Ensure all safety hazards, defective equipment or unsafe situations are addressed immediately• Contain, report and have safety hazards fixed by qualified people immediately• Know how to perform your Team's assigned tasks in a safe manner• Know how to properly lockout all energy sources, including stored energy, in your area• Instruct and monitor your Team to ensure they are following the safety rules, standards and procedures at all times• Know what type of Personal Protective Equipment is required for the jobs in your area and ensure that your Team uses Personal Protective Equipment properly• Ensure work areas are kept clean, promote and practice good housekeeping along with all fellow Team Members• Motivate and encourage positive, two-way friendly attitudes at all times• Treat all Team Members equally, fairly, with dignity and respect• Promote open, honest communication amongst one another• Promote the "Open Door" Environment• Understand, promote and work by Magna's Philosophies, Corporate Constitution and Employee Charter• Supervise Team Members in accordance with the principles of the Employee Charter and the policies and procedures set out in the Massiv Automated Systems' Employee Handbook• Set a positive example for the Team at all times• Ensure consistent application of all plant rules, policies and procedures• With Supervisor's involvement apply progressive discipline in a fair and consistent manner without favouritism and ensure it is conducted privately/away from others to maintain confidentiality and employee self-esteem• Maintain Team Member confidentiality• Ensure regular communication, employee development, teamwork, and quality work through team meetings (both on and off site) and forward meeting minutes to Plant Manager• Achieve the continuous improvement benchmark of 80% or higher on each category and no less than 50% on any individual question on the Employee Opinion Survey• Complete annual performance appraisals and return to Human Resources by the scheduled deadline• Provide each Team Member with performance feedback on a regular basis and involve your Supervisor as needed• Attend whiteboard meetings for job they are assigned to• Maintain MAFACT matrix and meet other MAFACT requirements for the department.• Encourage Team Members to discuss their questions, concerns and suggestions in a positive manner• Update skills and training matrix• Hold toolbox meeting• Ensure consignment material are in good condition• Ensure electrical build standards are followed and updated• Maintain basic electrical material stock• Keep track of electrical tool sign out• Make sure all redline markups are transferred to a PDF file and placed in a job folder• Ensure ISO Quality Workmanship through continuous improvement and training• Ensure ISO Standard Operating Procedures are followed• Report Quality issues or concerns immediately and take appropriate corrective actions• Promote, participate in and support Continuous Improvements• Perform other related duties as required
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:• Recognized Certificate of Qualification as an Electrician• 5 to 10 years experience in automotive tooling
CORE COMPETENCIES:• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills• Excellent organizational skills• Excellent leadership capabilities• Ability to delegate work• Ability to manage multiple tasks within the trade• Familiarity with all job descriptions in the department• Must have own tools• Excellent working knowledge of facility• Excellent knowledge of electrical drawings• Ability to prepare for future jobs• Knowledge of applicable cables, standards and regulations• Skilled in estimating time and material requirements of electrical projects• Knowledge of tools, equipment and material common to the electrical trade• Skilled in the installation, repair and maintenance of all type of electrical system, equipment and components• Must be able to travel and do overtime as required• Knowledge of MAFACT and BricsCad• Knowledge of Workday is an asset
