The Assistant Director of Corporate Relations will collaborate closely with the Director of Corporate Relations to cultivate and enhance relationships with local, regional, national, and international employers. The primary focus of this role is to expand the scope of employer engagement activities, develop and support innovative programming, and increase job and internship opportunities for High Point University students.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Education
- Bachelor’s degree; Master’s preferred
Experience and Training:
- Previous experience in corporate relations, employer engagement, or related fields
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office products and the Internet
- Proficiency in marketing, sales, and/or communication strategies
- Maintaining current and accurate database of suspects, prospects, contact information and activity, (planned and completed) and track your progress daily against target activity goals set to meet your strategic goals

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Responsibilities:
- Develops and nurtures relationships with a various range of employers to broaden recruitment activities, ranging from Fortune 500 companies to local community partners.
- Represents High Point University and the Corporate Relations team at on-campus events, conferences, and business-facing functions within the community and beyond.
- Leads face-to-face meetings with employers to identify organizational needs, develop internship programs, and advocate for the recruitment of HPU students.
- Executes campus visits for key employer stakeholders (Augusta National/Morgan Stanley/etc.)
- Collaborates with the Director of Corporate Relations to design and implement innovative corporate partner programs and events, including creating engagement packages and executing talent engagement initiatives.
- Oversees logistics and partnerships for HPU in the City initiative, serving as a representative of the Corporate Relations Team.
- Travels to target cities across the country to conduct employer meetings and establish recruitment pipelines.
- Works and collaborates with both the CPD Event/Marketing Coordinator and the HPU Office of Communications team to devise and implement effective marketing (print and digital), communication, and sales strategies to expand corporate partner relationships and advance them through the partnership pipeline.
- Assists in updating and developing standard operating procedures (SOPs) for the team and employer partners and assist DCR in the yearly departmental vision and strategies.
- Acts as a liaison between Advancement Officers/Alumni Engagement and the Corporate and Employer Relations team to foster growth within the Career Connector program.
- Serves as the primary point of contact and campus lead for the continued implementation and management of the HPUCareerNetwork Platform.
- Represents High Point University in NACE (National Association of Colleges and Employers) and its affiliates, staying updated on industry trends, best practices, and participating in events to enhance High Point's brand.
- Leads the Life Skills & Executive Leadership Program and acts as a liaison for the Internship Guarantee Program.
- Maintains the Corporate and Employer Relations page on HPU's website and oversee the implementation of industry-focused fairs across campus.
- Develops and updates the HPU Internship Playbook and Employer Guidelines.
Additional Responsibilities:
- Collaborates with the Director of Corporate Relations and Employer Relations Specialists to establish strategic relationships with employers, ensuring exceptional customer satisfaction and increased employer engagement on campus.
- Assists in developing influential marketing, outreach, and social media strategies and materials to enhance High Point University's visibility among employers and increase on-campus recruitment and engagement opportunities.
- Assists employers in building their brands on campus in collaboration with career advisors.
- Advise employers on marketing strategies and set expectations for applicants, event participation, and student involvement.
- Ensures adequate and creative marketing of employer postings and events in coordination with CPD Event and Marketing Coordinator.
- Works closely with the Director of Corporate Relations to propose budgets for all employer relations team activities and services.
- Support the Director of Corporate Relations in benchmarking on-campus and virtual recruiting best practices, and contribute to the development of new processes, procedures, policies, and metrics.
- Seeks, tracks, and reports employer feedback to evaluate the quality of services and student performance in the recruiting process, including outcomes.
