Assists in directing the financial planning and accounting activities of the Hutchinson Regional Healthcare System.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Devises and implements financial policies and plans
- Supervises the accounting system to assure accurate, timely, and complete accumulation of financial data.
- Reviews, analyzes and interprets financial and statistical data for others.
- Supervises maintenance of the general ledger to include the preparation of journal entries, review of the coding of invoices, account analysis and reconciliation, closing books, setting up new accounts, etc. to assure accurate and timely compliance with established accounting principles and procedures.
- Coordinates preparation of the annual budget. Assists department directors in the review and planning of their departmental budgets.
- Supervise and assist with the maintenance of software program generating and analyzing reports at various levels of detail, providing interpretation of cost data to decision makers, performing research and analysis for financial/clinical areas and serving as a resource to department managers.
- Understands laws, regulations and third party payer requirements. Provides oversight to assure that the Hospital is in full compliance with these rules.
- Coordinates preparation and review of monthly and annual financial statements.
- Prepares surveys requested by third parties.
- Abides by the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability privacy and security regulations regarding all aspects of Protected Health Information (PHI).

MINIMUM EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting.
- Several years of reimbursement, financial analysis/auditing, or similar experience.
