Position:
The Assistant Accountant reports into the Finance Manager and is an integral member of the team, the team is responsible for providing financial, commercial and administrative support to Senior Management.
Suiting an individual with strong Accounting / Excel skills and a drive to continuously review and improve business processes, the successful execution of this role will ensure superior financial project performance and delivery through accurate and timely financial reporting, proactive analysis and support.
Key responsibilities:
- Support progress claims by providing necessary documentation, issuing invoices, and following up on overdue claims.
- Post revenue accrual journals and assist with comprehensive month-end reporting tasks.
- Facilitate system migration to a new database, ensuring smooth transitions and data integrity.
- Manage bank reconciliations for Acciona Plant & Equipment.
- Generate and deliver ad-hoc reports, contributing to various financial and operational analyse.
- Balance Sheet Reconciliations
- Prepayment Journals, Depreciation, Asset Disposals etc,
- Back Up for Procurement/AP
Required Skills and Competencies
- Tertiary qualified in relevant field
- Minimum 2-year experience in a similar role (post-graduation)
- Strong working knowledge of Excel, managing multiple data files.
- Experience using SAP an advantage but not required.
- Attention to Detail: High level of accuracy and attention to detail in all tasks.
- Analytical Skills: Strong ability to work with complex data and systems, delivering clear and actionable insights.
- Ability to meet deadlines etc.
