Job Description

Position Purpose: The APU Planner is responsible for all scheduling functions to support customer orders and site inventory goals, while maintaining production efficiencies and utilization.  This position acts as liaison between all functional departments within the manufacturing facility.  

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES/ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:  

  • Responsible for maintaining a weekly production schedule for the SKUs and production lines at the APU. 

  • Responsible for the creation of a Master Resource Plan based on the latest demand signal to cover what needs to be produced or purchased as a finished product and to ensure that within the process there is sufficient raw materials, components, and machine capacity to support the required supply plan up to a 24-month time horizon 

  • Responsible for the creation of capacity plans based on the latest demand signal, to identify where there is any potential bottlenecks or risks to supply and to develop and recommend appropriate proposals to mitigate and to ensure that the plant or 3rd party can meet the future demand. Also identify where there is significant underutilization which could impact the costs of supply. 

  • Capable of being able to work on capability building as part of cross functional teams and add expertise in creating the optimal solutions 

  • Ensure that the supply plan is financially evaluated about balancing the requirement of consistent product availability versus the cost of supply and the investment needed in conjunction with financial partners to ensure meeting the operational budgets and targets. 

  • Tracking of the execution of the supply plan with production scheduling and buying ensuring that the plan is fully operationalized and tracked for performance deviation including mitigation on back orders and pro-active communication of future supply risks. 

  • Effective communication and confirmation back from supply planning to the demand plan in confirming capability to meet the requirements via the daily and weekly execution process but also via a robust monthly executive supply process. 

  • All Supply Planning system core master-data is maintained to enable focus on real supply issues 

  • KPIs for the role will be Schedule Adherence, Capacity Utilization, Back order and Lead time 

  • Responsible for root causing performance issues and acting on own capability to mitigate and correct 

  • Communicate potential part shortages  

  • Incorporate PM activities into production schedule  

  • Other duties as assigned  

 

Qualifications

POSITION REQUIREMENTS:  

  • Bachelor's Degree required 

  • Minimum of 4 years in either a production, supply, or demand planning required 

  • Demonstrated project management experience required 

  • Experience in demand planning into supply planning execution required 

  • Technical proficiency with MS Excel required 

  • Planning system experience to include use of SAP as a minimum requirement or equivalent ERP systems required 

  • APICS accredited or professional supply chain accreditation - highly preferred 

PREFERRED KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS: 

  • Critical Thinking skills, with the ability to categorize, prioritize, and communicate information to multiple sources 

  • Strong organizational skills 

  • Strong team player 

  • Ability to adapt/respond to all organizational levels, internal and external 

  • Ability to multi-task, prioritize, and manage time effectively

POSITION RANGE: $80,000 - $100,000 USD Salaried (This is the range that we in good faith believe is the range of possible compensation for this role at the time of this posting. This range may be modified in the future.)
