The Brattle Group, a privately held, global economics consulting firm, is looking for an Applications and Database Developer to join our Boston, MA office. The Applications and Database Developer will be delivering cutting-edge, world-class solutions to solve business problems through development of high-quality code We are looking for someone with the following skillset, but also eager to learn. This position will report to the Director of Databases and Applications Development.
Some of the day-to-day responsibilities of this role include:
- Develop, implement and support critical applications, databases and reports in a MS-SQL environment, using Microsoft SQL tools
- Develop and optimize integration and ETL processes using SQL, Azure Data Factory, SSIS and Microsoft SSDT tools
- Develop data visualizations and reports using T-SQL, Power BI, SSRS and business intelligence tools
- Design and develop data solutions including data warehouse and business intelligence solutions
- Build and implement processes to enable seamless data integration between internal systems
- Administer and support critical MS-SQL databases in order to maintain high levels of availability
- Administration of SharePoint On-Premises and Microsoft-365 environments
- Solve problems and provide practical solutions to issues
- Work with various departments to gather requirements and translate business needs into solutions
- Support existing 3rd party and custom applications and assist the user community
- Keep abreast of new tools, software, and technologies and make recommendations for future deployment
THE CANDIDATE
- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or related field;
- 2-4 years of experience working across a diverse technology base;
- Strong experience with advanced SQL programming and optimization, T-SQL;
- Experience with data warehousing, data lakes, data marts, data stores or cubes;
- Proven experience building ETL processes using T-SQL, SQL Server, SSIS and Azure Data Factory;
- Proven experience with data visualization and reports development using Power BI and SSRS;
- Demonstrated experience with MS SQL database administration;
- Knowledge of cloud environments, like Azure SQL, Data Factory and tools to help build a modern platform
- Experience with Microsoft SharePoint Administration in On-Premises and Microsoft-365 environment is a plus;
- Experience developing with C# .NET is a plus;
- Experience with Microsoft Power Platform (PowerApps, Power Automate, etc.) is a plus;
- A desire to problem solve, build tools and applications to automate work;
- Strong customer service skills with effective time management and strict attention to detail;
- Proactive self-starter willing to work both independently and as part of a dynamic team with the ability to handle multiple shifting tasks while staying organized in a fast paced environment;
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Excellent organizational and interpersonal with the ability to work effectively and to interact with clients, team members, as well as third-party vendors and service providers.
- Ability to be proactive, flexible and to work well under pressure in a supportive and collaborative environment.
- Excellent analytical, troubleshooting, and problem solving skills with little supervision; self-motivated and proactive.
Brattle offers a competitive benefits package, base salary, and bonus program for eligible roles based on individual and firm performance. The anticipated base gross salary range for this position in Boston, MA is $100,000 - $125,000 annually. Actual salary will depend on a variety of factors, including experience and training.
