Job Description

As an IT Engineer in Application Management, you will be called to manage business applications and to work with system owners to define best practices and procedures governing the management of those applications.  You will be part of a dynamic international team and will be called to participate in the review, deployment and management of applications together with other stakeholders. 

Role and Responsibilities

As the Application Management Manager, you will oversee the overall operations, and performance of the application management team. Your primary objective is to ensure that the Centers of Excellence (CoEs) for all enterprise applications operate effectively, adhering to best practices, governance, and business needs. You will work closely with stakeholders across IT and the business to develop and maintain an efficient application management framework, ensuring security, compliance, and operational excellence. You will also support the development of the strategy for application management.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Strategic Leadership & Governance:

    • Assist in defining the strategy for SaaS application management with senior IT leadership.

    • Ensure application management aligns with IT governance policies, compliance requirements, and business objectives.

    • Develop and enforce standardized workflows, policies, and best practices for managing enterprise applications.

  • Operational Oversight:

    • Lead and manage the Application and Endpoint  Management Team.

    • Ensure the effective operation of all Centers of Excellence, establishing and maintaining appropriate KPIs and SLAs.

    • Oversee the full lifecycle of business applications, from deployment and maintenance to decommissioning.

    • Monitor application performance, security, and compliance through regular audits and optimizations.

    • Establish a robust system of records for business applications, ensuring accurate documentation and asset management.

  • Process & Efficiency Improvements:

    • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance the efficiency of application management.

    • Identify and implement automation opportunities with relevant teams to streamline processes, reduce manual workload, and improve response times.

    • Collaborate with the Enterprise Architecture team to evaluate, validate, and integrate new business applications.

    • Work closely with cross-functional teams to support application installations, updates, and maintenance.

  • Reporting & Metrics:

    • Define and monitor key operational metrics to track performance, incidents, and service levels.

    • Provide regular reports on application management KPIs, SLAs, and improvements to senior IT leadership.

    • Use data-driven insights to adjust processes and improve the efficiency and effectiveness of the team.

  • Team Leadership & Development:

    • Manage, mentor, and develop your team members, ensuring their professional growth and career progression.

    • Foster a culture of collaboration, innovation, and accountability within the team.

    • Conduct performance evaluations and provide constructive feedback to team members.

    • Define skill development plans to ensure the team stays updated with the latest application management trends and technologies.

Qualifications

Technical Skills & Experience:

  • 5+ years of experience in application management, IT operations, or SaaS administration, with at least 2+ years in a leadership role.

  • Strong expertise in managing enterprise applications across various domains such as HR, Finance, CRM, IT Security, Collaboration, and Productivity.

  • Experience with SaaS application lifecycle management, security configurations, integrations, and automation.

  • Good understanding of  identity and access management (IAM), role-based access controls, and provisioning mechanisms.

  • Familiarity with IT governance frameworks (e.g., ISO 27001, SOC2), compliance audits, and security best practices.

  • Proven track record of optimizing IT processes and implementing automation to improve operational efficiency.

  • Experience working with Enterprise Architecture teams to validate business use cases for applications.

  • Proficiency in working with Google Workspace, Microsoft 365, Workday, Salesforce, or similar enterprise platforms.

  • Ability to conduct technical evaluations, performance monitoring, and capacity planning for applications.

Soft Skills & Leadership Capabilities:

  • Strong leadership and people management skills with the ability to develop high-performing teams.

  • Ability to translate technical concepts into business terms and communicate effectively with stakeholders at all levels.

  • Analytical mindset, with a data-driven approach to problem-solving and decision-making.

  • Ability to drive process improvements and strategic initiatives while balancing day-to-day operations.

  • Strong stakeholder management and collaboration skills across IT, business, and external vendors.

  • Experience in working in fast-paced environments, managing multiple priorities, and delivering results.

Education & Certifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent experience).

  • ITIL certification (preferred).

  • Certifications in SaaS platforms (e.g., Google Workspace, Microsoft 365, Salesforce) are a plus.
