Role Overview


As the Application Engineering Lead, you will bridge the gap between our cutting-edge battery storage technologies and the specific needs of our customers. A core focus will be to drive the deployment of our existing products into new use cases and drive the evolution of future products to suit these new applications. You will work closely with distribution partners and end-users. Your responsibilities will include providing technical expertise, product integration guidance, expectations management, and ongoing support to ensure successful deployment and operation. You will also lead the development of advanced modelling and simulation capabilities to drive understanding Clarify the technological and commercial viability of existing and future products for various use cases.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and expand the Application Engineering team across multiple countries, fostering a culture of innovation and excellence.
  • Mentor and train team members to meet technical and commercial objectives.
  • Drive the deployment of existing products into new use cases, ensuring alignment with customer needs and operational constraints.
  • Collaborate with the Product team to understand the requirements of new applications and identify market opportunities.
  • Provide technical guidance and support to distribution partners and end-users during deployment, setup, and commissioning.
  • Set up and configure product demonstrations to showcase the capabilities of our battery storage solutions.
  • Conduct proof-of-concept studies and field trials to validate product effectiveness in customer environments.
  • Gather customer feedback and insights for ongoing product development and enhancement.
  • Develop documentation, manuals, and other customer resources. Additionally, deliver training sessions and workshops on the proper usage, maintenance, and optimization of our solutions.
  • Provide technical support and assistance during product implementation and operation.
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot issues related to product performance or integration.
  • Collaborate with R&D, manufacturing, and distribution teams to resolve customer-reported concerns.
  • Develop and implement advanced modeling and simulation capabilities into our Enulator software toolkit to optimize product performance and reliability.
  • Evaluate and analyze complex scenarios using advanced simulations and provide actionable recommendations to Ampd leadership and global sales teams.
  • Ensure product compliance with regulatory frameworks and support clean energy targets.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering (electrical, mechanical, or systems engineering preferred) or a related field. An advanced degree in a relevant field is highly desirable.
  • A minimum of 8 years of experience in an engineering role, preferably within the energy storage, renewable energy, or electrical engineering industries.
  • Demonstrated experience in modeling and simulation, particularly in the context of energy systems or complex technical systems.
  • Prior working experience in any one of the construction, mining, building materials manufacturing, onshore oil & gas, or ports industry is a plus.
  • Familiarity with commercial and heavy industry regulations, as well as clean energy targets and standards.
  • Advanced data analysis skills, including proficiency in Excel; experience with programming languages like Python is a plus.
  • Solid understanding of battery energy storage systems, electrical systems, and power electronics.
  • Proven track record of leading and developing technical teams in a dynamic and innovative environment.
  • Strong project management skills, with the ability to oversee multiple projects and prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Experience in engaging with customers and stakeholders to understand their technical needs and translate them into product solutions.
  • Ability to create and deliver technical proposals and presentations to diverse audiences.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to convey complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams, including R&D, manufacturing, sales, and customer support.
