The position

Would you like to work across multiple industries, helping OEM’s innovate and make their products and processes efficient and compliant?

We are looking for an application engineer to join our North American team. This team is responsible for supporting the acoustic and vibration portion of our business. Our growing team needs a professional to concentrate on our structural analysis solutions offering, along with other solutions around acoustics and vibrations.

This will be a customer centric role, that will entail providing engineering technical support to internal, cross functional teams, along with our diverse customer base. The range and depth of technical involvement will encompass pre- and post-sales activities.

This position is remote from within the United States and will require approximately 25% travel time.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Assist the sales team by being the technical liaison.
  • Understand customer test and measurement requirements and evaluate/configure systems to meet needs. This encompasses the entire measurement chain (transducers, signal conditioning, data acquisition, analysis SW)
  • Focus on Sound & Vibration (S&V)/ Noise Vibration Harshness (NVH)
  • Provide technical presentations on HBK’s solutions to customers.
  • Provide on-site/virtual demonstrations of HBK solutions.
  • Lead paid trainings and system installations for customers.
  • Provide technical support and troubleshooting assistance.
  • Partake in onsite customer tests, ensuring HBK’s system is operating as expected.
  • Proactive outreach to installed customer base to ensure best possible user experience.
  • Relay bug reports and enhancement requests to factory/development team.

Professional Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in engineering (preferably mechanical, or electrical) or a related field, or equivalent industry experience.
  • 5+ year(s) engineering experience.
  • Experience in NVH Testing & Analysis (using SW packages like BK Connect or similar) is a huge benefit.
  • Experience in the field of test and measurement, working with sensors and data acquisition modules is a plus.
  • The position will be based out of the Detroit Metro area - offering a hybrid work scenario. Expect to travel upto 25% of the time. Travel will be predominantly within North America, with the possibility of international travel once per year.
  • You must be able to travel freely within North America to support the team and our customers.
