The Digital Modernization Sector at Leidos currently pursuing a new opportunity that has openings for an Application Engineers to work in Multiple Locations. This is an exciting opportunity to use your experience helping the U.S. Special Operations Command (USSOCOM) Enterprise Development, Application, and Training (EDAT) mission. In this mission we are focused on providing innovative, data- driven solutions and enterprise architecture enhancements to enable seamless operations across USSOCOM's global network. The program emphasizes rapid development and deployment of technologies to enhance the mobility and readiness of Special Operations Forces (SOF) in both combat and non-combat scenarios. Key tasks include program management, application development, training support, and technology integration to maintain USSOCOM's operational edge. The EDAT program underscores agility and adaptability, ensuring SOF professionals have access to the information and tools they need to meet evolving mission requirements.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Design, develop, test, and implement scalable and resilient applications for cloud-based and on-premise environments, including containerized microservices.
  • Provide maintenance and enhancement support for both current and legacy applications.
  • Perform application modernization, including migration to containerized solutions and alignment with modern software development best practices.
  • Develop and implement innovative technology frameworks to support USSOCOM’s modernization efforts and operational readiness.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to identify gaps and propose strategic solutions that align with the SOF Information Environment (SIE).
  • Research, design, and develop enterprise architecture projects, including cloud-based data handling and processing.
  • Integrate DevSecOps methodologies to ensure secure and efficient development practices.
  • Support the implementation of data-driven solutions, including data warehousing, database development, and advanced analytics for operational efficiency.
  • Adhere to strict data sovereignty and security measures, including Zero Trust (ZT) principles and compliance with NIST and DoD standards.
  • Prepare comprehensive technical documentation, including development roadmaps, user manuals, and training materials.
  • Conduct training for applications to ensure smooth adoption and operational use.

Basic Qualifications Could Include:

  • At least a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • Relevant technical certifications, such as AWS Certified Solutions Architect, Microsoft Azure Developer, or Certified Kubernetes Administrator.
  • At least two years or more of application development experience.
  • Security certifications, including CompTIA Security+, CISSP, or CISM, are advantageous.
  • Strong skills in application development using modern programming languages (e.g., Java, Python, .NET).
  • Experience with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure) and containerization technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes).
  • Must possess at least a Top Secret clearance.
  • Familiarity with DISA Security Technical Implementation Guidance (STIG) and Zero Trust security practices. Preferred Qualifications.
  • Expertise in enterprise data architecture, big data processing, and artificial intelligence/machine learning (AI/ML) integration.
  • Hands-on experience with implementing Public Key Infrastructure (PKI), Identity and Credentialing Management (ICAM), and Role-Based Access Control (RBAC).
  • Senior-level candidates should demonstrate prior leadership experience in large-scale application development projects or teams.
  • Ability to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams, including data scientists, system engineers, and government stakeholders.
  • Familiarity with USSOCOM operational environments and mission requirements.
  • Experience working in DoD or federal government projects, adhering to strict compliance and regulatory standards.

Pay Range:Pay Range $65,000.00 - $117,500.00
