Role Description
As our Senior Application Engineer, Finance, you will use your experience in SAP and tax solution tools to ensure our finance and tax operations are efficient, compliant, and aligned with our strategic goals. In this role, you’ll use your expert-level knowledge of SAP, for finance operations, and tax management solution/tool for tax compliance and management, to implement and test new processes that enable the finance and tax departments to move more efficiently. Additionally, you’ll provide training and support to the teams highlighting your ability as an effective communicator and collaborator.
In this role, you'll:
- Engage closely with the finance and tax departments to gain a deep understanding of their processes, challenges, and objectives. Conduct detailed analysis to identify improvement and optimization opportunities.
- Design and recommend solutions using SAP for finance operations and a tax management solution (e.g., Vertex) that addresses identified business needs. Ensure these solutions are scalable, reliable, and efficient.
- Lead the implementation of SAP finance modules and tax management/solution systems, including system configuration, customization, and integration with existing business systems, ensuring alignment with business requirements.
- Manage testing activities to ensure the implemented solutions meet business needs without defects. Oversee user acceptance testing with the finance and tax teams.
- Develop and deliver training materials for the finance and tax teams on new systems and features. Provide ongoing support and expert advice to ensure effective utilization of SAP and a tax management solution.
- Continuously monitor the performance of finance and tax systems, identifying and resolving any issues to improve system efficiency and effectiveness.
- Provide oversight on all financial and tax systems and processes ensuring adherence to relevant laws, regulations, and industry best practices. Maintain comprehensive documentation of system configurations, processes, and compliance records.
At a minimum we'd like you to have:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems, or other technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
- 8 years of experience working with SAP and/or a tax management/solution tool.
- Experience in financial principles, tax laws, and regulatory compliance.
- Experience in the configuration, customization and integration of SAP finance modules.
- Experience using tax management/solution too, both in setup and maintenance, for tax compliance and management practices.
- Experience with the end-to-end implementation of SAP and tax management/solution too.
- 3 years in a leadership or team lead role.
It's preferred if you have:
- Master's degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems, or other technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
- Experience in roles with a focus on finance and tax processes and tax management tools (e.g., Vertex).
- Experience identifying inefficiencies, gaps, and areas for improvement with ability to enhance overall process efficiency and user satisfaction.
- Experience as the primary liaison and management between the organization and service vendors, ensuring alignment on projects, and effectively communicating progress and challenges to internal stakeholders.
- Exposure to Supply Chain, Procure to Pay, Siemens Teamcenter, Coupa, HR Systems (Workday, Concur), Nuvolo, Simple Legal, P6, Blackline, and Asignet.
The US base salary range for this full-time position is between $185,000 -$203,000 + bonus + cash award + benefits. Your recruiter will share more about the specific salary range for your targeted location during the hiring process.
