PURPOSE
The main function of a Developer Specialty is to design, develop, and implement applications using Appian BPM suite to support business requirements.
RESPONSIBILITIES
•Ensure BPM/Appian good practices are applied across the project portfolio
as needed.
•Collaborate with delivery leads and project teams to match project objectives.
•Evaluate each team member performance and provide individual follow up.
•Create and implement training plans for the team and assess team members Appian proficiency.
•Lead internal projects, within the Appian Capability team.
•Perform regular audits of Appian practices, SDLC compliance, quality, and security compliance.
•Report Appian capability status and action plans to management, including forecasting.
•Risk and issue management, communications, and stakeholder management
•Recommend course of action regarding issues/concerns, implement mitigation plans, then escalate risks and issues to senior IT management as necessary
•Responsibilities include planning, assigning, and directing work
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
•Candidates should be strong in Appian technology with at least 5 years of experience
•Strong staff management skills and the ability to effectively manage teams
•Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with co-workers, managers, and clients
•Should be a BPM expert
•Should be experienced with SQL and data management
•Ability to debug issues in Interfaces and Process Models
•Knowledge of Sites, complex SAIL Forms
•Should have done multiple integrations with external systems
•Should understand the differences between REST, SOAP, and the basic design principles in integrating to Web Services
•Experience with Integration of Appian to other applications, like CMIS, SAP, DocuSign, etc.
•Knowledge of at least one major programming language
•Excellent verbal and written communication skills
•Good command of Excel and PowerPoint
•Ideally, is proficient in core Java and JavaScript
•Ideally, has an experience working in Agile environment
•Ideally, has an experience with quality management
•Ability to lead a team of distributed engineers
•Design and implementation of continuous integration and deployment
•Participate in the development and maintenance of appropriate project technical documentation including design, configuration, and installation
•Comprehend the business objectives, challenges, strategic direction, and technologies by working with stakeholders and technical resource
•Support day to day technical administration including upgrades and release management, analyzing log files, configuration and change control
QUALIFICATIONS
• Bachelor's degree in a technical field such as computer science, computer engineering or related field required
• 2+ years’ experience required
