Position Summary
The API Analyst works within the Connectbase API Centre of Excellence (ACE) Team, alongside engineers and QA teams. The analyst role has responsibility for business analysis associated with integrating new APIs into the Connectbase platform, support of the ongoing operation of existing APIs through troubleshooting and supporting enhancements of the platform, across Connectbase’s supplier network.
Primary Responsibilities, including but not limited to:

  • Analyze new Serviceability and Quoting API supplier specifications and produce new product development specifications for implementation to the Connectbase API platform. This will include directly working with Connectbase’s supplier network to complete the documentation.
  • Review existing API implementations in the Connectbase API platforms and produce new product specifications for continued operational maintenance and support.
  • Support the Connectbase Customer CARE team to investigate and resolve issues with existing Supplier API implementations.
  • Produce and maintain API Implementation documentation for both API development and future API support, including both technical implementation requirements, business implementation details and ongoing production support details; Supplier technical contacts, supplier business contacts, known API issues, support guidelines as learned during analysis and development.
  • Participate in API Implementation, Acceleration and Migration projects as required to evolve the Connectbase API Quoting platform.


Working Skills & Experience Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or commensurate working experience; Engineering, Computer Science, or related field preferred.
  • Minimum 5 years of relevant experience.
  • Excellent written and oral communications skills with the ability to effectively communicate across the organization as well as directly with Connectbase suppliers.
  • Practical experience of the Software Development Lifecycle, including understanding the value of good requirements, clear specifications and the importance of communication between analyst, engineer and testing team members.
  • Telecom experience relating to Data networking a plus but not essential.
  • Previous technical experience with APIs, including experience with SOAP and REST APIs.
  • While not essential, any experience with the following will be viewed favourably;
    • Familiarity with JSON and XML data
    • Experience with SQL (MySQL) and NoSQL (MongoDB) databases
    • Experience with coding languages (js, java, other)
