Role Description

We are looking for an experienced and motivated candidate to manage in region team members, processes and controls. The role will include client funds payments processing, cash and banking project work and includes responsibility for cash reconciliations investigations, interest rate monitoring and an element of FX trading for some clients.

Specific Role Responsibilities

  • Overseeing the teams daily BAU flows to ensure all aspects are delivered within contracted service level agreements and key performance indicators.
  • Peer reviewing team member’s work.
  • Payments - process daily market settlement payments and ledger movements.
  • Daily pooled FX trade processing and cash settlement.
  • Maintaining up to date and accurate interest rates across all supported currencies.
  • Client cash (banking) reporting for Internal/External stakeholders
  • Maintain excellent relationships with external stakeholders ex. banking providers, to ensure great working relationships and enhanced service delivery.
  • Active involvement in the teams client money and assets audits
  • Contribute to team testing requirements. 
  • Undertake team project work as required. This may at times extend to working directly with the client(s) and/or vendor service providers ex. Banks or Brokers etc.

  • Demonstrates personal accountability by flagging errors to the team Manager and taking corrective action promptly. Lead the team in this area.
  • Strong people and stakeholder management skills – able to establish relationships with our banking providers, other custodians, brokers and third parties to ensure quick resolution of issues.
  • Problem solving skills coupled with initiative.
  • Client focus – deliver a consistently high service to all clients.
  • Teamwork – ensuring the team, department and business targets and goals are achieved.

Experience required

Cash Settlements team seniors and leads should have more than 5 years’ of working experience in financial markets ideally with some exposure to Banking or related Cash Settlements functions. 

  • Accuracy - Highest attention to detail a necessity.
  • Tertiary Qualification
  • Back Office operational experience
  • Intermediate Microsoft Office (Including MSSQL Server) ability.
  • Discipline to operate in a high-pressure multi-deadline environment. 
  • Enthusiastic and able to perform role autonomously while being a team player and contributing to the overall success of the team and business.

As in any financial institution we experience high volume time periods and busier periods across regions for example (but not exclusive to) month end, quarter end, end of financial years, PIE tax and other times which require all staff to pull together and potentially work extra hours as is required. FNZ and APAC Cash Settlements team also operates across multiple regions and so some NZ (or AU) regional and/or public holidays may not be observed where client service levels in those regions indicate a business day and/or where markets are still open. FNZ and the team do still operate flexibly during these times.
