The AOI Engineer is responsible for in-process detection engineering using but not limited to: SPI, AOI and other vision tools. Key responsibilities include troubleshooting SMT/PCB processes, ensuring necessary documentation and system maintenance, and providing technical support for new product introductions.
Responsabilities
-
Responsible for in-process detection engineering – SPI/AOI/Vision Systems for NPI P and production released products.

Responsible for the SMT/PCB issues and internal/external quality feedback. Troubleshoot the SMT/PCB process (SPI/AOI/Vision Systems) root causes and attain corrective action to the issues.

Plan, create and esure the necessary SPI/AOI/Vision Systems programs and process documentation are completed and updated in time for production

Ensure that the respective equipment computer systems and network are well maintained and in operation condition. Programs are regularly updated and backup

Participate in new product development discussion and contribute ideas and comments in the areas of PCB assembly, automation, and process technology.

Monitor the SPI/AOI/Vision Systems inspection/detection windows and modify whenever necessary to increase machine capability and quality.

Continuously review and improve strategy and technology in the SPI/AOI/Vision Systems inspections processes

Maintain and upgrade machine capability timely via engineering bench marking projects

In charge of minor and major breakdown troubleshooting of equipment.

Provide training in machine maintenance, operation and process to all support personnel in detection process.

Work with Quality department for any need to correct/improve processes and products

Work as a team with the Support departments to achieve product Quality.

Provide support to NPI's of sister plants in Spellman de México S.A. of C.V.

Development/update of PFMEA for areas where they are required.

Leadership in procedures necessary for the implementation of manufacturing systems in assigned areas.

Participate in activities required of the Engineering Department and that are aligned with the direction followed by the company.

You may stop any manufacturing process when it does not meet the quality specifications required by the client.

Participate in and contribute to the development of maintenance plan for assigned area or process equipment, based on supplier manuals, experience and improvement opportunities.

Participate in the definition of spare parts levels necessary to maintain equipment in good operating conditions.

Implementation of engineering changes according to the times established in the engineering change procedure.

Weekly review of the continuous improvement program, completing applicable improvements and providing feedback to the suggestion generator.

Comply with and ensure that the personnel under their charge comply with each of the points considered within the code of conduct (ethics) of Spellman de México, S.A. of C.V

Comply with the Health, Safety and Environment Policy, following the procedures and instructions applicable to its activities.
Competences / abilities:
-
Graduated from Industrial/Mechanical/Electronic Engineering.

3 years of experience in a similar position is preferred.

Strong knowledge on programming AOI (Koh Young/Pemtron is preferred)

Knowledge on Geber, CAD, ASCii files is a must
-
Knowledge of electronic components and soldering preferred.

Strong knowledge of IPC-A-610 acceptance criteria

Knowledge of flowcharts (PF) (PFMEA)

Knowledge of BOM's and process routes
-
Interpretation of 2D assembly drawings (GD&T).

Knowledge of the ISO 9001 Standard.

Knowledge of the ISO 14001 Standard.

Advanced problem-solving analysis and methodology.

English 3 Intermediate.
