Job Description
We are looking for an Anti-Financial Crime Risk Identification & Control (RI&C) Analyst to join our Anti-Financial Crime (AFC) team.
In this role, you will support the AFC RI&C Lead in implementing our risk management and prevention program, safeguarding the organisation’s reputation, and ensuring compliance with AFC policies and procedures.
As part of the second line of defence (2LoD) and reporting to the AFC RI&, you will assist in the managing and executing processes designed to identify and measure AFC risks. You will also conduct activities that support several key systems and controls related to transaction monitoring and screening.
The ideal candidate will possess a degree or equivalent professional experience, along with experience in risk management within the financial services sector. An understanding of asset management and advisory businesses is highly desirable. You should have a working knowledge of anti-financial crime systems, including screening and transaction monitoring tools.
Strong analytical, report-writing, and stakeholder engagement skills are essential, as is the ability to deliver high-quality outputs within a robust regulatory framework.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Support the AFC Risk Identification and Control Lead with the following:
• Developing and implementing a comprehensive Risk Identification and Control program to ensure compliance with relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards.
• Executing the AFC Enterprise Wide Risk Assessment (EWRA) in a timely manner, collaborating with AFC Vector and functional team members to continuously enhance the EWRA process. This includes ensuring the inclusion of relevant risks and controls and the accuracy of the information provided.
• Assisting in the day-to-day maintenance and enhancement (including calibration, model validation and parameter setting) of AFC-owned tools and systems. This includes tools for transaction monitoring, sanctions, PEPs & negative news screening, as well as customer and other risk assessment tools and relevant , industry risk, , entity risk, etc.).
• Investigating escalated alerts within required timescales and escalating them as appropriate to the AFC RI&C Lead.
• Striving for continuous improvement by identifying, crafting, and implementing changes to AFC processes, controls and procedures as required, and ensuring they are documented accordingly.
• Handling queries from regulators, counterparties, auditors and other professional third parties.
• Producing management information (MI) and reporting.
QUALIFICATIONS
• Degree qualified or equivalent professional experience.
• ICA Diploma or equivalent preferred.
KEY KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & EXPERIENCE
• Anti-financial crime professional with experience in the regulated sector or consulting firm, ideally with exposure to the asset management or wealth sectors.
• Experience in at least one of the following financial crime risks: Anti-Money Laundering/Counter-Terrorist Financing, Sanctions, Fraud, Bribery and Corruption, Facilitation of tax Evasion.
• Involvement in risk assessments and control assessments.
• Proficiency in working with transaction monitoring and/or screening tools and calibration of these tools.
• Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal skills
• Strong understanding of the financial crime regulatory environment.
