ABOUT THE JOB (JOB BRIEF)

The annuity operations team provides back-office support for Key Investment Services advisors with new annuity and life insurance orders as well as the maintenance of existing annuity policies.

PRIMARY JOB FUNCTIONS

  • Review annuity applications and related documentation
  • Work with KIS advisors to ensure funding is in place for annuity orders
  • Assist with annuity linking and delinking requests
  • Process manual annuity and life insurance orders
  • Assist advisors with questions regarding rep changes on annuity policies.
  • Communicate and follow up on all items that are not in good order
  • Monitor Work Basket to complete assigned tasks
  • Make quality decisions in a timely manner; sometimes with incomplete or ambiguous information and under tight deadlines/pressure 
  • Contact carriers to request statements, discuss the status of orders, troubleshoot issues with policies
  • Document and maintain department procedures
  • Provide project support duties as assigned by management

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s Degree or 3-5 years of experience in Investment Operations environment or equivalent financial services experience  
  • Strong professional written and verbal communication
  • Excellent time management skills
  • Ability to multi-task, prioritize work and meet established deadlines with limited supervision.
  • Demonstrate detail orientation, precision and exactness
  • Strong Personal Computer skills with proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word
  • Take ownership and provide complete follow-up with assigned tasks
  • Flexible and adaptable individual with the ability to handle changing priorities to support the team as needed

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS/SKILLS

  • Prior experience/knowledge with annuities processing and/or back-office investment operations
  • Institute continuous improvement approaches where appropriate; assess processes and make recommendations for workflow improvement
  • Exhibit a proactive nature and approach to learning, problem identification and resolution
  • Self-motivated with a desire to learn and be successful

As a result, this role may be mobile or home based, which means you may work either at a home office or in a Key facility to perform your job duties.

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS

This position is eligible to earn a base salary in the range of $50,000 to $55,000 annually depending on job-related factors such as level of experience. Compensation for this role also includes eligibility for short-term incentive compensation and deferred incentive compensation subject to individual and company performance.
