Senior Android Developer - Aktiia team

We are a venture-backed startup that has developed and brought the world’s first continuous blood pressure monitor to market. Our technology is based on 15 years of research by our founders at the prestigious Swiss research institution, CSEM. Aktiia's solution has been validated through extensive clinical trials and received the CE Mark as a Class IIa medical device giving us access to 43 countries worldwide. To support our accelerating revenue growth and ambitious product roadmap, we are seeking a Senior Android Developer to join our team. Main responsibilities

• Implement new features and maintain existing ones for our Android app.
• Take ownership of specific feature implementations and produce structured, easy to read and efficient code.
• Write unit tests, functional tests and verify your code against defined test cases.
• Writing specification for software for medical devices.
• Participate in code review and ensure timely delivery of high-quality code.
• Discuss possible implementations with other team members and create and maintain the overall design and architecture of our app.
• Estimate development efforts and do sprint planning together with the team.
• Keep track of your work and make sure to follow Aktiia's development process.
• Plan releases together with the team and supports the release of our app on the Google Play Store.
   

Required competences / education

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in computer science, electrical engineering or a related field.
• 5+ years of experience as an Android developer.
• Functional and automation testing, writing specification and documentation.
• Knowledge of distributed version control systems, like Git.
• Experience with OpenCV, NDK, Camera API
• Good knowledge about software design patterns, data structures, and algorithms.
• Understanding of software development lifecycles in a regulated industry with experience in medical device software development is a big plus.
• Willingness to work flexibly, in an interdisciplinary and international environment, depending on the current project status.
• Strong analytical skills and process-oriented work style with a structured, independent approach to work and focus on getting things done.
• Stress-resistant, even in fast-paced and busy situations.
• Fluency in English (French and other European languages are a plus).
