Supports the execution of accurate Net Asset Value reporting for regulatory, management information, note disclosure in financial statements to internal and external stakeholders, and regulatory bodies. Works across BMO teams to supports an efficient and effective accounting function which uses common information sources (Bloomberg, Reuters) and practices, to increases service level performance and minimizes risk by researching, analyzing, and providing valuation support for all holdings (exchange traded and private companies) within the funds.
- Provides input into the planning and implementation of financial, regulatory, and management reporting programs.
- Participates in the design, implementation, and management of core business/group processes.
- Supports the production of financial, regulatory, and management reporting requirements.
- Executes work to deliver timely, accurate, and efficient service for monthly, quarterly, and annual processes for reporting.
- Analyses data and information to provide financial, regulatory, and related risk insights and recommendations.
- Supports the interpretation and definition of internal and external policies and regulatory requirements e.g., credit reporting.
- Ensures strong governance and effective controls across finance & accounting activities and information in accordance with enterprise standards.
- Provides attestation to the validity of financial results and highlight significant information including variances, trends, opportunities, and exposures to their manager.
- Provides information and support the process for internal (Corporate and SOX) and external audits.
- Gathers and formats data into regular and ad-hoc reports, and dashboards.
- Organizes work information to ensure accuracy and completeness.

- Thinks creatively and proposes new solutions.
- Exercises judgment to identify, diagnose, and solve problems within given rules.
- Works mostly independently.
- Broader work or accountabilities may be assigned as needed.
Qualifications:
- Typically between 1 to 2 years of experience in building financial models from the ground up that will be utilized for overall investment valuation.
- Worked in investment banking, consulting, private equity sector.
- Post-secondary degree in related field of study or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Must have completed CFA 1 or in process of completing CFA.
- Excellent research, financial modeling, analytical and valuation skills.
- Work with existing models developed by colleagues to incorporate new data and verify results.
- Participate in the ongoing management and monitoring of private companies, including the annual valuation process.
- Excel at preparation of investment recommendations and presentations to investment/valuation committees (Advance Excel skills require).
- Strong financial modeling and analytical skills.
- Deep understanding of fundamental investment and valuation analysis.
- Excellent interpersonal, communications and collaboration skills.
- Highly proficient in Excel and PowerPoint.
- Verbal & written communication skills - In-depth.
Salary:
$49,000.00 - $90,800.00

Salaries will vary based on factors such as location, skills, experience, education, and qualifications for the role, and may include a commission structure. Salaries for part-time roles will be pro-rated based on number of hours regularly worked. For commission roles, the salary listed above represents BMO Financial Group’s expected target for the first year in this position.
