Essential to scaling is building and running a security compliance program that reflects how we protect the data and assets in our care, to open the doors with customers, regulators, auditors, and other external stakeholders. Coinbase is looking for a security compliance analyst to drive the second line of defense in the IAM and vulnerability management space.
What you’ll be doing (ie. job duties):
- Lead Security and IT initiatives as 2LoD to support the IAM/VM roadmap and advance program maturity
- Assist with scoping of IT systems and create and deliver training to owners in preparation for various Technology & Security audit
- Lead and perform security control gap assessments over security control environment and design and track remediation efforts to completion
- Assess Security control postures and compliance implication of new products, update relevant controls, and communicate requirements to product organization and other stakeholders
- Perform impact analysis for control deficiencies identified and partner with owning teams to design remediation plan
- Provide ongoing reporting to stakeholders and leadership on above responsibilities and communicate progress and escalations management
- Build close relationships with stakeholder teams including Security IAM, Security vulnerability management, IT, Infrastructure, Engineering, and advice on security requirements and ensure excellence in control ownership
- Work closely with internal and external auditors to educate them about a complex technology control environment
- Stay closely aligned with IAM and VM development, monitoring emerging trends and collaborating with teams to provide up-to-date control recommendations that support continuous improvement.
- Develop creative solutions to prove risk mitigation and solve for complex audit problems faced by the crypto industry
- Identify opportunities to address systemic program challenges, recommend solutions and drive issue resolution
What we look for in you (ie. job requirements):
- Minimum 2+ years working experience within Security
- BA or BS in a technical field or equivalent experience
- Understanding of and experience auditing common certification and attestation requirements like PCI DSS, ISO 27001, SOC1, SOC2 etc.
- Understanding of cloud controls and environments within AWS, GCP and or Azure
- Practical understanding of IT Security Compliance, risk management and information security principles including access control, network security, information security architecture, information security operations, vulnerability management, and leading practices and associated tools
- Demonstrated experience operationalizing and improving IAM and VM controls. This includes working closely with technical teams to design, assess, and validate controls, such as role-based access, privileged access management, vulnerability remediation processes, and integrating these controls into broader compliance programs.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Strong engagement skills (internal and external)
- Successful demonstrated experience managing and working with internal cross-functional teams and product engineering groups
- Ability to multitask, direct cross functional work, and hold others accountable to committed deadlines in a fast paced environment
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to cater communication to a wide range of technical, clinical, and cultural backgrounds.
Nice to haves:
- Prior experience at a Big 4 or consulting experience in Cybersecurity preferred
- Security certifications e.g. CISA, CISSP, CISM or other relevant certifications
- Experience mapping common controls across multiple frameworks in a GRC tool
- Financial services or financial regulatory experience

Pay Transparency Notice: Depending on your work location, the target annual salary for this position can range as detailed below. Full time offers from Coinbase also include target bonus + target equity + benefits (including medical, dental, vision and 401(k)).
Pay Range:
$135,320—$159,200 USD
