LAS ANALYST ROLE
The LAS Analyst is responsible for producing industry and/or practice analysis in support of internal and client engagements, knowledge initiatives, and new business opportunities. The Analyst supports Consultants and Associates in executing client engagements such as organizational culture and strategy, team effectiveness, executive assessments, and CEO succession. In addition to external client projects, the LAS Analyst conducts proactive research that may be dedicated to a practice group or for local engagement needs. He/she may also focus on special projects that expand and enhance knowledge across the practice.

The LAS Analyst interfaces with key team members within the practice as well as the Knowledge teams in the practice. The LAS Analyst serves clients across a diverse range of industry sectors, including but not limited to consumer goods, industrial, financial services, energy, and professional services. The LAS Analyst role requires approximately 10-20% travel, primarily within the geographic/continental region of the person’s home office (i.e., EMEA, North America, APAC). Occasional global travel may be required.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Analytical Skills: The LAS Analyst plays a critical role in synthesizing research for business development initiatives, client engagements and intellectual capital developments, as well as providing a succinct and accurate point of view as measured by quality and timeliness of contribution to project objectives. The successful Analyst will do this while dealing with short timelines and limited information by:

  • Leverages knowledge of an industry, function, and other appropriate resources to gather relevant information.

  • Provides accurate and timely research information about executives, organizations, markets or other relevant sectors.

  • Subjects researched facts to extensive analysis and interpretation before drawing conclusions.

  • Makes inferential leaps in thinking to reach a solution despite incomplete or ambiguous information.

  • Uses effective business writing skills to create succinct and client-ready analyses, and documents information in firm database.

Project Management: In collaboration with relevant team members (including but not limited to Executive Assistants, LAS Consultants, and Search Consultants/Associates), the LAS Analyst plans, manages and drives own efforts in support of new business development and client engagements. The successful Analyst will do this while handling multiple projects with competing deadlines, working with individuals who are in different geographies, and managing challenging expectations with limited resources:

  • Takes ownership of the project by doing what is needed at all phases of the research process, anticipating next steps and not waiting to be told what to do.

  • Regularly reassesses priorities to align resources when needed and proactively reprioritizes own workload to provide additional support to the team.

  • Delivers commitments on-time or notifies as early as possible if problems occur or deadlines will slip.

  • Communicates project progress to the client and/or project team at agreed upon intervals.

  • Manages a large amount of information with rigorous attention to detail.

Professional Approach: The LAS Analyst acts as an internal ambassador for the practice and the firm. The successful Analyst contributes to the efficiency and quality of teams in order to successfully meet project objectives as measured by Consultant, Associate and peer feedback while working with individuals who have different styles by:

Candidate Profile
IDEAL EXPERIENCE

  • Experience with collecting and organizing information from databases and/or internet resources. Ability to analyze and synthesize data into other formats.

  • One or more years’ experience in leadership advisory, organizational development and/or human behavior

  • Experience working in a consulting environment and/or a role involving significant client service and the management of multiple projects toward tight timelines in an environment where competing demands are the norm.

  • Experience of operating in an international network.

  • Undergraduate degree from highly competitive university required.

  • Excellent knowledge of the English and Japanese languages, both written and spoken. Command of additional languages is advantageous.

  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office platform (emphasis on Word, Excel and PowerPoint applications).
