Job Summary
Quality Control Analyst II:
Will actively participate in the delivery of accurate analytical results for internal and external processing of Bulk/Semi Finished Goods/Finished Goods for the Enzyme/Emulsifier plants.
Position – Quality Control Analyst II
Reports to: Quality Control Supervisor
General and Technical Competencies:
- Advanced computer skills in Microsoft suite platform, analytical software pertinent to role, SAP, Access Database.
- Timely and accurately perform all quality controls tests and analysis as well as accurately utilize and troubleshoot all analytical equipment.
- We meet Food Safety requirements, GMPS, BRC and FSMA, familiarity is a plus.
- Chemistry and/or Biology or Associates or BS in Chemistry or Biology is a plus.
- 3-5 Years or more in a lab setting within the food industry is a plus.
- Experience with titration, GCs, viscosities, NIR’s is a plus.
- Apply quality best practices to all aspects of daily tasks/projects.
- Apply previously gained knowledge to deep dive into RCA when analytical deviations occur within the lab framework.
- Timely and accurate assistance to QC Supervisor and QC Manager as assigned for inline priorities and customer complaints.

Tier II Overview:
- Shift will be 12 hours from 6p-6A and will work the following 2-week rotation: Week 1 - Mon-Tue and Week 2 - Sat/Sun/Mon/Tue/Wed, (7 total days per every 14).
- Will complete a multitude of analytical testing each shift in adherence with our internal/external Product Descriptions and Metrics.
Safety Requirements
- Usage of EHS Near Miss reporting tools/Walk and Talk monthly reporting
- Wear Proper PPE – Safety Glasses when performing testing and lab coats when using harsh chemicals. Usage of latex gloves during analysis and sampling of raw materials.
- Hazardous Waste Monitoring – Emptying of daily use containers each shift.
- Cleaning of glassware - cleaned and dried by the end of your shift, ensure safely handled and washed with proper heat-resistant gloves.
- Document Usage of 200proof Alcohol for KDA.
Daily Requirements
- Address any rush or high priority samples as they arrive or are assigned
- Rounds (Visit Dimodan Control rooms, each packaging line to verify labels/liner cameras and see what is being produced, check gases (If Empty Change IT only full left on the system and one open), eye wash stations (ground and 1st floor), clean out color oven, GC flush vial and septa check)
- Print, Review and Mark up the ZBSL for open actionable items
- Check Clipboards for Micro, HACCP, BIG Bag Conditioning, OOS, etc. – Compare to ZBSL to verify proper holds
- Visual verification of labels – Scan/copy PCQI
- Collect Raw Materials daily as requested from the Warehouse department
- Scan all Raw Material COA’s, COA+RSPO certificate for all MB palm based raw materials
- Tab Tests and Blender Batch verifications as needed
- Sample Prep for shipment to GPAL via Crossroads as needed
- Sample Prep for shipment to DK or other entity as needed
- Test and Package for Shipment the AA sample on shift received
- Test all samples as guided on worklist – RUN NIR ON ALL LIQUID SAMPLES
- Stock Supplies, make titrant/solvent solutions as needed
- Retain Sample Maintenance (monitor crate inventory and pack 2 months onto pallet as needed)
- Special Test Requests (Complaint Investigations, New Supplier Testing, etc.) as needed
- Monitor DI Water and notify Culligan if filtration refresh is needed
- Monitor Micro Pallet and notify WH if needed to be removed/emptied.
- Monitor Gases and notify Linde if needed
- Collect and Transfer Cyclones to Retain Rack as needed
- Support Dimodan A, Dimodan B, Bulk, Panodan, Spray A, Spray B, Spray C, Warehouse and blender sample testing
- Troubleshoot Equipment and Methods as needed
- Allergen Changeover Swabs/Verification – As needed (record results in excel file)
Monthly/Yearly Requirements
- Completion of weekly/monthly cleaning coupons
- Review training procedures and A Methods in DTrain as assigned.
- Annual surveillance testing
- Annual Inter-lab study
- Any assigned task as needed from QC Manager and QC Supervisor
