Purpose:
This position is responsible for supporting the Foreign Trade Zone (FTZ) Sr. Manager and group's efforts to ensure Tapestry's processes, internal controls, and reporting are in compliance with U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) regulations by overseeing the movement of goods within the zone, maintaining detailed inventory records, and processing necessary documentation for import and export activities, while adhering to all FTZ rules and procedures to facilitate efficient trade within the designated area. The individual will perform complex and confidential administrative duties to ensure accurate Foreign Trade Zone operations are within compliance of and adhering to all required standards of Custom Border Protection (CBP), Fish and Wildlife (F&W) and all other agencies.

  • Accurately manage inventory controls leveraging the FTZ software by tracking all merchandise entering and leaving the FTZ, maintaining detailed records of goods stored within the zone, including their status (domestic or foreign) and process adjustments and ship orders as required.
  • Prepare and submit all daily FTZ admissions (e214), follow-up and resolve 214 posting messages.
  • Support in the research and verification of foreign vs domestic receipts into the FTZ and validate FTZ data against actual documentation as needed to ensure accuracy of integration and information.
  • Identify, reconcile, and resolve any inventory issues in a prompt and timely manner. Research shortages and file discrepancy reports with carrier/CBP.
  • Aid in the preparation of the weekly estimated entry (CF3461) and prepare weekly Customs entry (CF7501)
  • Process PTT's and IT's as appropriate to move shipments to/from ports as required.
  • Administer FTZ Software table updates with any new information, i.e. vendor, MID, HTS information.
  • Assist the Operations team in managing in-bond export transactions from the FTZ (CF7512) and filing CF216 as needed.
  • Support the management of FTZ recordkeeping retention program, ensuring that all FTZ records are maintained and readily available for CBP review in accordance with the applicable recordkeeping regulations.
  • Assist with maintaining, auditing, and enforcing the required procedures to ensure compliance by all relevant parties to all required FTZ operational practices and protocols.
  • Foster relationships across multiple teams (Finance/Accounting, Operations, Customs, Logistics, Trade Compliance Team) and work across various levels in the organization to ensure program objectives are achieved.
  • Provide any other support to the FTZ Program Sr. Manager and Trade Compliance team, as needed.


The accomplished individual will possess...

  • Associate degree in Business, Supply Chain, Logistics, or a related field, or 2+ years of relevant work experience in lieu of degree working in FTZ operations, inventory control systems, warehousing, and logistics.
  • Experience with Foreign Trade Zone Software and US Customs regulations and compliance
  • Flexible, adaptable, collaborative and have a keen sense of urgency in a fast-changing environment.
  • Strong analytical and good decision-making skills
  • Curious, always willing to learn and ability to understand and apply complex trade concepts.
  • Ability to prioritize multiple competing tasks, follows-through completion of tasks/projects.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Demonstrated Advanced Excel, Microsoft Office knowledge and 2+ years of ERP system; SAP preferred.
