AltaGas - Sr Manager, Capital Investment
Reporting to the SVP, Risk Management & Energy Fundamentals you will be supporting the development and implementation of the platform for organizational capital investment evaluation and governance processes. The role requires deep industry knowledge and the ability to develop complex analytical models, provide clear financial and operational analysis, conduct due diligence, and generate insights in support of value creation initiatives and the organization’s investment, regulatory, and risk management decision-making framework. The role requires significant relationship management, critical thinking, and experience in investment analysis, finance, corporate development, and business valuation.
You Will:

Support the development of policies and procedures to ensure best practices in capital investment review and allocation

Establish valuation models to develop forecasts, scenarios, and economic analysis that help drive capital investment decisions and risk management strategies in line with the organization’s objectives and regulatory requirements

Collaborate with the organization’s project management and corporate support teams, providing analytical support, governance, problem solving, and management of cross functional due diligence

Facilitate the structured, consistent and concise preparation and presentation of business development opportunities, reporting, and capital investment recommendations to senior leadership, investment committees, and other stakeholders

Utilize subject matter expertise on emerging market dynamics, policies, alternative technologies, and macro trends assessing key market indicators that may impact business and growth opportunities

Foster a culture of continuous improvement and professional development, building a high-performing team through leadership, mentorship, and development opportunities for team members

Drive innovation, automation and efficiency delivering detailed, well-supported financial analysis and investment review

Respond timely to ad-hoc analysis requests
You Have:

10+ years of related experience and/or diverse experience in energy-specific financial analysis, deal advisory and consulting services, investment banking, private equity valuations, and financial due diligence

Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, economics, or similar field; MBA, CFA, CBV or other advanced degree/certification preferred

Proven ability to model and develop forecasts as well as to interpret market information, build and present actionable strategies

Excellent technical skills with advanced proficiency in financial modelling

Project management skills including the ability to work under pressure with strong organization & time management skills

Ability to work with diverse, cross-functional teams

Demonstrated curiosity, critical thinking, and tenacity

Outstanding oral, written and interpersonal communication skills

High attention to detail, delivering accurate work in a timely manner
